I have been using one pen and one pen only for the past 13 years - Since 1999.
The uni-ball® Gel Impact RT Pen with no other pen used to write; daily, for business and personal.
I always have back-up uni-ball® Gel Impact RT Pens and re-fills on stand-by at both home and work.
There have been times when I have a customer use my pen to sign, or jot down notes (I'm in sales) and many times a customer will say... "boy, that's a niccccce pen... so smooth" And depending on how they sound when they say it, I will give them my pen. When they say "no, come-onnn" I say 'no, go ahead it's yours... I have plenty of back-up. Then I'll tell them where to get re-fills and extras because... it's the last and only pen they will ever want to use ever again.

When it works it works great. However, there are two major concerns; the ink will leak without warning and get over everything, and it clogs without warning. I still buy it because it is very easy to use, and it's distinctive, but you never know when it will leak or clog.

Excellent refill - I have been using them for years. Only issue is that Staples does not have the red refills in stock where I shop! Is this a management decision, or just further evidence that our economy is in the tank?

I bought the refill at Staples at a very reasonable price compared to online prices. The store where I originally bought the pen doesn't carry refills. Unfortunately, the refill doesn't work any better than the original. It skips constantly. I love the gel grip, though, so I put up with it. I certainly wouldn't use it anywhere I needed to take notes.

I love this pen, mine are worn with age because I have had them for a good 5+ years and keep buying the refills which last even though I use them in the office and at home. Everyone that "borrows" my pen is amazed at how good it writes - and I "chase it down" lol so I don't lose it and no one takes it.

Subject notebook writings, notes, lyrics, basic everyday signature, etc use. The pen has a easy read back on the eye with bold ink. On some surfaces the ink may not dry as fast but the it's worth the wait because most surfaces that it takes longer are like a car registration surface requiring only a signature, or the back of credit cards. Overall excellent pen.

the medium pt is the only refill available. i prefer fine or extra fine. i find it tedious to write for extended periods with medium, so use the pilot for that. i wish there were more choices available as far as points.
