"I have been looking for a good digital piano for some time. I am living in a dormitory and yet in spite of being 88-keys, this baby fits great. It's 51.5 inches wide X 14 inches deep X 43 inches high (if you keep in mind it has a music stand for scores).
With only the aid of a box-cutter and a large philips head screwdriver, I was able to assemble this in approx 30 min. (it took this long because the instructions are not exactly laid out in much detail, but once you take your time you'll be successful). There's nothing to warn you about when assembling.
Now at $600 this seems kind of high, but remember you get the Piano px-120, the stand and the three pedal unit. These altogether go into the $800 plus range so being able to have everything delivered in one big bx at a cheaper price is sweet.
I consider myself an intermediate piano layer having reached grade 5 in my life. Let me tell you that in no way do i feel annoyed by how this piano plays. And when you hook it up to a good pair of headphones ( I use the sennheiser HD 202 headphones with 10 foot cable) I actually love it. Everything is in stereo, so playing with the headphones, you actually forget that you're plugged in and not listening to the keyboard itself.
That being said the overall fit and finish is quite good they even include screw caps to hide unsightly screw heads (these hold on nice and tight so don't be afraid they will come off on their own).
The only problem I would mention is that there is no keyboard cover or lid. Not that it makes things difficult, it's just that you need to be vigilant in keeping dust off the keys. But it's a minor inconvenience. I am quite satisfied with this, and having bought it from best buy means that instead of paying shipping, if it ever defective, you can carry it back. I put the best buy 4 year warranty on this for 40 more dollars, since the casio factory warranty only covers 1 year.
I am VERY satisfied with this piano and to me the touch of the keys is improved from the px-110 (which was being used as a display model). I have been to Guitar Center and other music stores, but i narrowed down my choice to this piano based on my budget and the features it offers. For someone who wants a piano, but does not want to deal with the weight, hassle of getting it tuned etc this fits the bill. If you want something for the studio go for the px-320. it's the same piano essentially, but with more outputs/ features.
And this piano is light, I assembled this by myself and I can lift it and move it quite easily. For the girls out there it may be a little difficult but not impossible to move. The pedals are quite nice, they feel like the real thing, and do not squeak or the supporting bar they are mounted to does not shift when you press them. There is really nothing to be dissatisfied about here. All my initial fears were removed once i hooked up the product and played. There are no buzzing, or annoying clunks from the keys. Truly, a good piano for the enthusiast.

nice but buy PX-1303 star rating

"Nice package from the Best Buy to add the keyboard stand and the tri-pedal, both of them purchased seperately would cost cost $200 extra.
Having said that, PX-120 is a nice board, but I would prefer PX-130 or PX-330, updated version of PX-120; I think it has better weighted key action and the sound than PX-120.

  • Excellent Digital Piano5 star rating

"This is an excellent electric piano. The sound quality is great, the keys play like a real piano as opposed to a cheap keyboard. The only real complaint someone could have is that it has very few instrument sounds beyond the basic piano setting. I, personally, couldn't care, but some people like those functions."

"I bought a Yamaha at the same price and it wasn't bad, it had weighted keys, but wasn't hammer action. The Speakers were amazing and delivered good sound but the sound samples for the piano were far under par for me. I bought this one and was very VERY pleased. Though the speakers aren't extraordinary the weighted keys and sound sampling are simply stunning. If u have it on the stand u have all 3 pedals! This impressed me. The damper adds such a great sound and it is great to see a keyboard that has one. The pedals feel good and no shifting around when u press them. Though it doesn't have the 482 sounds my Yamaha did i only ever used the piano and strings, so the lack of sounds on this keyboard don't bother me one bit."
  • WOW--this is almost like an acoustic!!5 star rating

"Seriously, I really never thought about buying a keyboard, I have a baby grand so why would I even consider a keyboard? But...one day I was in Best Buy, and OMG when I played this keyboard I was hooked. This thing was so close to playing an acoustic, I just had to have one.I'm not a "rookie" when it comes to pianos. I have been playing the piano since I was 4 years old, the church pianist for 37 years, playing on an 1928 Washburn old upright (yes we keep it tuned-lol) so I feel that I've played a lot in my lifetime.I DEFINITELY wouldn't hesitate suggesting this keyboard for any beginning student for parents who don't want to invest in a heavy and expensive acoustic. The action of the hammer-action weighted keys is so close to an acoustic that the student gets the feel of a "real" piano. In addition, the student can PRACTICE ANYTIME with the headphone option. How many times I was told to quit playing when I was a kid because somebody in my family was going to bed or they were tired of hearing me play the same thing over and over-LOL Plus the stand that comes with this keyboard isn't like some flimsy x-bow stand and it comes with the three pedals. It looks like a real piano!!! just without the size, weight, etc.I took the keyboard before I assembled it in the stand to church one Sundayand used the Piano and Strings together, and the congregation was stunned. I was told that they felt they were listening to a full orchestra!!While at best buy, I also looked at the other keyboards they had on display, and believe me, the feel of the keys on this unit was FAR superior to the other brands on display.I had my grand piano tuned shortly after I got the keyboard, and the piano tech, who is a certified piano tech, was also impressed with this unit. I joked with him and told him that he won't be tuning this keyboard--LOLI could see where this keyboard would be a great asset to a college student who needs a piano but don't have the room for an acoustic.Truthfully, I still think there is nothing better than a quality acoustic, but this keyboard gives you a lot of "bang for your buck!!""

"i bought this piano for my wife for christmas this year. it was a pretty tough process to put together and it actually took a few hours to assemble. afterwards we also noticed that at high volumes, you can hear one of the speakers rattling inside the piano. i'm not sure if this is normal or not, but we decided we would put up with it and not return it. overall this is a really good value for a piano and has a great sound. you just might need some help with assembly."
  • Good keyboard, better than many priced much higher4 star rating
by Anonymous from Windham, ME on December 12, 2009 at Best Buy
"I am a pianist/keyboardist of 20 years. I teach and play professionally for local theaters. This is a very good keyboard. It sounds and feels a little better than most digital pianos priced quite a bit higher. As good as it is, make no mistake: this DOES NOT sound or feel "exactly like an upright piano," but it is still quite good, especially for the low price. The only reason why I rate it 4 stars instead of 5 is because of the cheesy, cheap piece of plastic they try to call a "music stand." Awful. Too short and worth about 50 cents. Toss it and buy a nice, sturdy, respectable music stand to put behind the keyboard.

This is a good instrument for a young student or a keyboardist on the go who needs a simple, inexpensive, lightweight, portable instrument that still feels and sounds pretty good.

"The Casio Electric Piano is not only easy to set up, but has amazing resonance and sound quality that can't be matched by any keyboard that i have played so far for the same or sometimes greater price. It has a full sound with multiple voices for Vibrophone, Orchestra, and organ sounds and a large range for volume control. It also has stored songs in the memory that help when learning to play that particular piece. The ability to change the reverberation, tone, and brilliance is also a nice touch. This piano would be money well spent"
