Wanted to replace my Craftsman blade but found out that Sears doesn't do that anymore and in fact there are no more Craftsman tapes! Boo! This one is fine, but it would be better if you could get replacement blades as that is what usually breaks.

I bought this after looking at several Stanley tape measures. I bought it becuase all the others had "made in America" on them. When I got home I noticed this was made in China. I took the item back and bought a made in America Stanley. My made in America Stanley Tape measure has worked flawlessly.

I bought this Stanley Tape measure for my son who was always borrowing my Fat Max. He has enjoyed using it and hasn't borrowed my tape since!

Odd locking mechanism, and semi flims tape. Was weary of plastic housing but holds up for DIY'ers

I'm a plumbing contractor and a lever lock style tape measure is an invaluable tool for one hand operation when measuring for long runs of PVC, copper, etc. of pipe while up on rafters. I purchased this tape measure as a replacement for my Craftsman. While this tape is fine for the homeowner and light duty use, it's not durable enough for the professional tradesman where reliability and toughness are a mandatory requirement. I dropped it while I was on the rafters of a house and it broke into about 5 pieces. Needless to say, I was miles from the nearest store. Fortunately, I still had my Craftsman as a backup with me.

I recently re-started a woodworking hobby, and needed a new tape measure. When I went to buy one, though, the prices seemed unreasonably high. I settled on this Stanley, since I have always found their products to be of high quality and the price was right. After two months, I know that I made the right decision. The tool is accurate and easy to read, and I really appreciate the automatic locking mechanism - so much better than the old thumb locks, and infinitely easier to release. The blade behaves well, twisting only enough to make flush measures, while the base remains stable. The design fits well in my hand with an easy grip, and the one-handed blade lock release is often very useful. The overall construction and its component materials seem solid. I look forward to many years of functional use before I have to spend a bundle on a eplacement.

I purchased this product 3 weeks ago to use daily at my job. The other day the entire tape came out of the case while measuring. I have never seen a tape measure do that. Needless to say I won't purchase this one again or recommend it.

When I went to measure the studs for a wall I was building this little tape measure stayed right where I put it. That handy little lever held on right where I put it. If I needed a lttle extra room all I had to do was slide it down, none of the awkwardness of undoing a standard tape measure button. Leverlock you sure get the job done

I depend on this tape. The Lever Lock is a very handy feature. I wear out about 3 tapes per year (rubbing off the numbers under 24" or fouling with thinset), and am very happy with this one.My most recent tape was returned to the store after the spring failed to retract about 2 weeks after purchase. Because I've had so many of these, I knew it was a fluke and replaced it with an identical model.New design has shrunk the size of the hook, I liked the larger one better for ease of pulling out the tape.

This is the 2nd one I purchased. Great product. I would definitely recommend especially if you work alone a lot, you don't have to have someone hold the other end.

Probably not heavy duty enough for a contractor, but as an interior designer it suits my needs perfectly.
