This product was less expensive than renting from the local rental shop. They (2) held up my patio overhang while I replaced the 4x6 posts. Simple, quick and safe.

I needed to replace two 6 x 6 posts on my front porch. I didn't want to jerry-rig a support to hold up my roof and found this unit online at a good price. I used concrete stepping stone(s) at about 1 foot from rotted post as a base for leveling, firm support and adjusting initial height of jack (this prevented curling of the base plate as was mentioned in another review.) Firmed jack in place by hand, used a plumb bob to insure vertical placement, then used a wrench to turn the screw at the top of jack to raise the beam. Removed old post, set in new post, turned screw to lower beam. Very simple, secure and I felt far safer than anything I could have jerry rigged. I'm a simple 'do-it-yourself' kinda guy. Never tried this before but feel comfortable doing it again.

One nut from one jackpost missing, but still able to use jackpost. Recommend opening box and checking post over before making purchase.

I used six of the large posts to jack-up / level part of my basement. The foundation wall, circa 1930 was cracked and part of the house "sunk". These are well built, and worth every penny! They are also easy to use. A+ all the way!

Good value, my suggestion would be for heavier plates for top and bottom. The include sheet metal plates distort quickly.

The product did the job very well, the only down side is that it make take couple extra phone calls and shipments to get all parts for the jack posts.

Good quality item, we are using it to brace the floor from the basement to hold up a 600# safe. Sturdy post.

The strong base and upper plates set themselves easily. I used this jack to raise a sagging roof over a horse stall. Because the jack is adjustable, I managed to get the job done by myself.

I ordered two of these to support one end of a 52 ft deck that was in trouble. One of the units must have been a "return" as it had been opened and was missing one bolt. The jack-screws on both units were "burred" and could not be fully adjusted until I used a file to clean the threads. The two sections of pipe could be a much closer fit (about 5/32 play when installed). In the end, they did the job (with a little extra work) and I did not have to return them.

Post arrived with box opened and the hardware bag had been torn open and a piece was missing . I called the customer service and the response was IMMEDIATE and very pleasant. They shipped me the missing part express and i was back in business. The customer service was what made this transaction a positive experience. Good customer response policy and leadership, HD!

I bought these to use as temporary supports for my deck (8 foot above ground) while I replaced the permanent wood support beams. I was disapointed with the quality of these jack posts. The top and bottom plates are thin stamped sheet metal. The plates are not attached and have no means of attaching them. The post just "sits" on the plates. This is unsafe because even if you bolt down the support plate, it doesn't matter because the post just sits on it and will easily slip off. The jack screw also just sits in the end of the post and is not attached either. Once the jack screw is extended over half way, it too could easily tip out if something bumped the post. I mig welded the top plate to the post end, and also mig welded the jack screw into the lower post end. This made the posts stable and made me a whole lot more comfortable working under 30,000 pounds of deck/screenroom held up by these posts.

I needed something to raise a sagging second story floor on my homes two-story porch. The jack post was exactly what we needed. It was fairly easy to set up and install. I am very pleased with this product. I looked everywhere around town and couldn't find one.

I ordered 2 of these and was very pleased with the service from Home Depot. They were shipped out promptly and I received them in a few days. The product seems to be very simple in design but robust enough for the job. I have a sagging floor joist on my ground floor so I installed one on that joist and am keeping the other in case I have to bring up other joists. It was very simple to install and hopefully will take care of the problem. I don't see why it shouldn't. If this is a product you are in the market for don't hesitate in ordering from Home Depot.

I was surprised that the actual stores do not stock jack posts, but I was able to get it on line. It had free shipping and came in two or three days. It worked just fine. I am completely satisfied with everything except that I couldn't get one the day as at the store.

Two parts complicated the usage. Washers were welded to the concave socket in the top plates for better load distribution. The bearing washer supporting the adjusting screw sometimes rotated requiring a hand to arrest the movement. Drilling a set screw solved that problem.Overall, they worked very well lifting the end of a two story house to replace some beams.Braathen Construction

I ordered 2 of the post jacks. One was recieved in perfect condition, but the other box end failed and someone taped it back together, but all of the hardware that came with it was missing. This includes the plates, bolts, and the screw jacking device. That makes it useless! I have not returned it to the store yet, because I live 50 miles from the nearest store.

Used two of these to lift a big elevated deck and replace rotted posts. Could not have done it without The ability to adjust size for odd areas was the key. Bottle jack would have requires many different temporary supports Great value
