This is a reprint of a 2001 book, an expanded edition of the 1994 Jacob Lawrence; Thirty Years of Prints (1963-1993), which was published in conjunction with a touring exhibit. Differing from the 1994 catalog, this book incorporates some revised information, a previously unpublished early work, and the 25 prints that the artist completed between 1994 and 1999. Nesbett (director, Jacob and Gwendolyn Lawrence Foundation) supplies an introduction and commentary on each work; and an essay (by Patricia Hills) discusses how the artist approached printmaking.
