5 star ratingBest one I've owned!
by Rai (Columbus, OH) on January 10, 2009
After my other printer gave out I decided purchasing a new one would be a better financial decision. The NX400 was on sale at Target and worth every penny I put into it. The quality and features are excellent! I love the small LCD display where I can select which images I want straight from my memory card. The ability to adjust the resolution, sharpness, contrast, brightness and saturation of the images I scan before I even scan them is excellent. I also like the way the color ink is divided, now if I run out of one color rather than replace the entire cartridge I can simply replace that color.

1 star ratingAbsolutely Awful waste of money!!!
by Cajun-Junkie "Raegan C" (Charleston WV) on March 17, 2009
Ive been looking for a good all in one printer; this one isnt it! First, its made of cheap plastic, its flimsy, the paper got jammed in the first 5 mins, (when it even recognised it had paper in it!) It was so loud, i thought it was going to either blow up or fall apart, it shook horribly when it printed. I took it back an hour later! Don't waste ur money! Spend the extra money and buy the other! I did, and its top notch. the pics are ahhhmazing!

4 star ratingGreat Printer for a Great Value
by egge415 from San Francisco, CA on July 7, 2008
"My husband and I bought this Multifunction Printer/Scanner/Copier aftering discovering that our old printer would not work with Windows Vista. Even though we were reluctant to purchase any printer, we are extremely happy with this item. It prints and copies very quickly. The resolution it is capable of in both copies and scans is amazing for the price point of the unit. The navigation on the printer itself with both the buttons and LCD screen are very easy to use and understand. Installation was also a breeze. It took five minutes from the time we took it out of the box to the time we were up and printing. The cons are that it is a little noisy compared to our old printer. Also, the tray in the front where the prints comes out seems a little flimsy. We're had trouble sliding it in and out after use. That could be a spot problem with our printer though and not consistent on all units. We would buy this printer again and recommend it to others."

2 star ratingInk is too expensive.
    by Reilly S on May 6, 2009
On top on having to buy a USB cord, replacing the inks costs more than the printer. Epson goes out of there way to prevent you from refilling their cartridges or using compatibles, so you are stuck buying expensive cartridges from Epson. The cost per page printed is often more than 10 cents! Also the printer is loud as can be. It sounds like the print head is ready to break though the plastic sides.

    5 star ratingGreat Printer
by US Mummy on April 29, 2009
This printer is awesome. I am a scrapbooker and love how my photos turn out. I don't think it's cheap plastic at all, and it stays pretty still when it prints. I have been using it for a while now and have not come across any problems. It's easy to install, and easy to keep track of your ink. I love the screen so you can print out pictures from your memory cards, or USB sticks without turning on your computer. The only downer for me was that it did not come with the USB cable, luckily the one we had before for our old printer was the same one we needed.

3 star ratingNot the best in the world but it will do.
by Jillian Ferguson "jillrae" (Wyoming) on March 24, 2009
Not a bad printer, the scan was a bit grainy but then again I'm not doing anything professional with it. A big negative for not having a USB cord. Buy the printer and you will have to spend more $$$ on the cord. I used the cord from a previous Epson and connected it to the PC and now works straight from the PC, not just a memory card. CF and SD cards only, no memory sticks.

    5 star ratingAwesome Printer!!
by FloridasRedhead from Ocala, FL on September 3, 2008
"I was looking for a printer since I started college, and didn't want to spend a fortune. I originally was looking at a Canon but when I got to the store and saw this one, I saw it has an LCD screen for PC-free printing and slots for memory cards for only $20 more so I grabbed it. I'm very pleased with it, it prints great (and quietly after the initial paper grab) and the photos look like lab-quality prints!! I also like that their are 4 ink cartridges (black, magenta, yellow and blue) so if you run out of a certain color you can replace only that color and not the whole cartridge!! Makes sense!! The cartridges are cheap too!! Great printer, I'd definitely buy it again!!"

    4 star ratinggreat printer
by jwilliams from Los Angeles, ca on August 7, 2008
"aside from the initial grabbing of the paper being loud this is a great printer. I wanted to test the quality of the photo prints so i took a kodak printed picture and printed the same one on this printer. It was great. I could barely tell the difference. The scanner works well also. for the price this is a great printer."

1 star ratingWORST INK CARTRIDGE EVER
by angryworkfromhome on October 20, 2008
"The ink cartridges on this printer are separte, so you do not have to change all colors when one is empty...HOWEVER, the printer will not work at all when any one of the cartidges are empty. I was printing some black and white documents and after 100 warning messages that day that I should buy black ink soon I went out and bought a cartidge just before the store closed. Came home printed about 2 more pages of black and white pages and was notified that the Yellow was empty. Even though the black was full and pristine, nothing will print! You get two options...stop trying to print or buy from epson online and then stop printing until it comes in the mail. Epson Help FAQs suggest that you should keep plenty of cartidges of all colors on hand so you are prepared for when this happens. BOO! The printer is also VERY LOUD. It scares my baby. When it does print, scan, etc. The quality is excellent. You decide if it is worth it. :)"

"this printer is a good printer if you are using it for school related stuff.the only thing i dont like is when it grabs the paper, its really loud and annoying. if they made this printer less noisy it would be an EXCELLENT printer.but because of the noise im not sure how i recommend this.oh, the print quality for basic pictures for school projects is great.---dont know yet for actual pictures"
