Synopsis

Fannie Fudwupper's big brother, Edwurd, spends his time cooking up big fibs full of phooey and letting them rip. But one day, Edwurd tells such a whopping lie that the army, the air force, and the dogcatcher are called to reverse the damage. Full color.

Annotation

Edwurd's little sister comes to the rescue when Edwurd's humongous fib lands him in trouble with a three-eyed alien from another galaxy.

Publishers Weekly

A timid girl only wants some attention from her brother who is too busy fabricating stories to be her friend. When she tells a fib to save the planet, she finally earns his affection. "The alternating ink-and-watercolor caricatures with ultra-high-contrast images, exude an almost radioactive glow," said PW. Ages 6-9. (June) Copyright 2003 Reed Business Information.

This is yet another in a collection of these children's books that we have acquired. I have three sons and from our 10-year-old down to our toddler of 3, they love Mr. Breathed's books (Red Ranger is a christmas tradition now in our home). This book is fantastic. The rhyming text and wonderful pictures hold the total attention of my active 3-year-old. My 6-year-old reads along. We have read and read this book already and it will be dog-eared like the others in no time at all. I recommend this book for your collection as it will be a favorite of sour-faced boys and annoying little sisters everywhere.

In Edwurd Fudwupper Fibbed Big Edwurd lies to Merril Dill that she has been voted queen of Brazil! But when people have discovered she¿s missing he says, ¿Space Pigs came and kidnapped her,¿ and they call in the troops. They point their big satellites toward space and say, ¿BRING MERRIL DILL BACK YOU SPACE PIGS!!!¿ And an alien with 3 eyes comes up and says, ¿who told you that fib their are no space pigs out here and who is this Merril Dill because whoever told you that fib I¿ll squash them flat with my flyswatter you hear.¿ Everyone points at Edwurd but then his sister speaks up and says she did it and he tried to cover up for her with his lies. I think you should read this book because of the silly illustrations and silly things Edwurd says. I think it was a good book and it really made me laugh. I think you should read this book if you like hearing silly happenings in the world.

Edward Fudwupper Fibbed Big is about a boy who is a big fibber. He always got away with it,except this time he fibbed too big. Then a alien as big as 10 Earths shows up and said ¿Who ever started this hoot.¿ He said he was going to sguish whoever it was. To find out the end you¿ll have to read it. This is a good book for smaller children. I think kids, as well as adults, should read it.My most favorite part is when the Alien shows up, because the alien is funny looking.

Not only does this story take you on a hilarious adventure but it is a nice twist on sibling rivalry and tale spinning. The illustrations are full of surprises as well as engaging expressions of emotion and color. Any elementary class in the fourth [or fifth grade] will love it! If you're a Dr. Seuss fan...this is for you.
