...if you have a bottom-grill Fast-fill filter refrigerator made by Whirlpool/Maytag/Kitchenaid. It is much easier to change than other models (where the filter is in the back or you have to turn the filter a certain way). This model just pushes straight in, but for something you are supposed to change every six months, the price is absurd. Over the reasonable life of the refrigerator you will spend more on water filters than you did the refrigerator.

Bought the filter to replace one that was due replacement. We brought in the old box, and an assistant retrieved the new filter for us. It worked as promised.

I have a Whirlpool refrigerator & this is Maytag's part number which is the same as Whirlpool cartridge P2RFWG2, part # 4396841B. In other words, if it's blue & looks the same (has 2 prongs), they're interchangeable.The price is the same as Whirlpool charges, so you have the convenience of saving the shipping cost if you pick it up yourself at your local Home Depot.

Too expensive and does not make a difference. Good news is you can pull it out and the water will bypass. Then you can install a cheap 15 dollar home depot inline filter between the house valve and fridge. Just cant understand why this is twice the price of the other PUR filters on this site.
