I tried to upload photos from my camera, but nothing came up. The computer recognized the device, but I couldn't figure out how to make it work. The directions were not helpful.

Excellent device that works every time. Use for a HP camera that I have had for some time and some devices do not accept that card.

This product is very easy to use. You simply insert your photo card (many kinds may be used), then plug the device into any computer's USB port. Click on open the folder and there are all your photos. You don't have to download your camera's program to all your computers. This device makes it very simple. It is great to use while on vacation to clear up camera space and it is a perfect size to fit into your camera case. A literally takes seconds to upload all your pictures. I will break them up into several folders also.

Replaced an older USB reader that finally quit. This one is bigger, so I can only use 1 USB port at a time as my laptop ports are close together.

The first time I use this device 2 pins in the X card slot bent preventing the card from being inserted. with some careful tinkering, I straightened them and now it works. You must be extremely careful when using the X card slot.

Vivitar RW-50 50-in-1 Card Reader/Writer by Vivitar has 5 slots to support 50 memory cards, High speed USB 2.0 Compatible with all versions of SD/HC, Micro SD, CF, MS & XD. It has an easy plug & play
installation with a Rapid data transfer. This was the product I needed when a client handed me several Compact Flash cards and the built-in reader on my PC decided to malfunction and quit. The salesman at Staples immediately point to this product when I explained what I needed. That vote of confidence was all that I needed to make a valued and informed decision to purchase.

What I love about this product is the flexibility to use different types of cards if necessary. I primarily use compact flash cards, but should I ever have to use another card, I can!

Our printer used to provide a slot for Compact Flash cards, but in the software up grade they eliminated it. I was using up all my batteries directly wireing it to my computer. It wasn't very conveniant. My family all have their own cameras, and now it's a simple one stop device that we all can use. Vivitar did a good job combining most of the card types into a small conveniant unit. I haven't used the other slots available, but it's nice to know that, almost any other type of card can be supported, so in the future when I get my next camera, I'll be able to read the card.

I have 3 of these, one in my studio, one in camera bag, and one in laptop case. My first one was purchased over two years ago and it has been every where. From NC to Hawaii, to Costa Rico, Bahamas and places in between.

Although I have a multitude of camera card ports on either my laptop or my HP 8600 all-in-one printer, I had difficulty in downloading photos from the Sony camera's card because they never seemed to fit! Didn't take care of all the packaging that I'd received with the camera so I had lost the cable that came with the camera. Replacing that camera cable seemed to have become a major problem because no one seemed to have them in stock. The Vivitar product line has been well received by me in prior experiences, and this one is really a miracle because it truly is as advertised — 50-in-1.
