The pins bent after a few CF cards were used, this is the second one that I've used and they both broke down. At least the first one lasted a while.

BOught this because I had lost or misplaced my camera cable. This was so much easier. I was then able to use to download pictures from sisters camera when she was visiting.

Being a total computer illiterate, this was perfect! My camera broke, couldn't get pics out. A Staples "competitor" sold me something similar, but the "thingy" that holds the pics wouldn't fit. THIS ONE had so many options, one slot was bound to fit, and VOILA, photo's out of camera and onto laptop!

My "state of the art" computer, with the internal card reader, will only read up to 4 gig, this item read and wrote on an Ultra 64 gig card, full backup in less than 3 minutes, HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!

I tried to upload photos from my camera, but nothing came up. The computer recognized the device, but I couldn't figure out how to make it work. The directions were not helpful.

Excellent device that works every time. Use for a HP camera that I have had for some time and some devices do not accept that card.

This product is very easy to use. You simply insert your photo card (many kinds may be used), then plug the device into any computer's USB port. Click on open the folder and there are all your photos. You don't have to download your camera's program to all your computers. This device makes it very simple. It is great to use while on vacation to clear up camera space and it is a perfect size to fit into your camera case. A literally takes seconds to upload all your pictures. I will break them up into several folders also.

This device requires activation through the Vivitar website. The site does not recognize the serial number of the device so I can't activate. I sent a message to customer service 24 hours ago but no response yet.

Replaced an older USB reader that finally quit. This one is bigger, so I can only use 1 USB port at a time as my laptop ports are close together.

The first time I use this device 2 pins in the X card slot bent preventing the card from being inserted. with some careful tinkering, I straightened them and now it works. You must be extremely careful when using the X card slot.

The reader did not function from the very start. There is a key code you must enter and after trying and retrying and getting an error code I returned it for a refund.

I have had many card readers and this one is by far the best one. The other readers came with long cords to attach to the reader and to the USB port of your computer. I have found these very cumbersome and they often get twisted and become defective. All you do is plug this unit into your USM and you are good to go. I don't know why this wasn't thought of before. Vivitar has a very good product here and I thank Staples for carrying such a good product and one that is very easy to use. I will continue to shop at Staples because their employees have always been very knowledgeable about all aspects of all their products they carry.

Although I have a multitude of camera card ports on either my laptop or my HP 8600 all-in-one printer, I had difficulty in downloading photos from the Sony camera's card because they never seemed to fit! Didn't take care of all the packaging that I'd received with the camera so I had lost the cable that came with the camera. Replacing that camera cable seemed to have become a major problem because no one seemed to have them in stock. The Vivitar product line has been well received by me in prior experiences, and this one is really a miracle because it truly is as advertised — 50-in-1.

Buyer beware, this reader worked for two months of weekly use (used approximately 2 times a week). Now it does not read a thing. It was used primarily for reading SD cards, Compact Flash, and MicroSD cards. It worked fine for the first 2 months, now the computer no longer recognizes it, and the read light no longer turns on. I tried to use it on 4 different computers but I get the same results. It failed just in time to not be able to return the thing, which is after the return date expired. I would give it zero stars if I can.
