Editorial Reviews
In this comedy from director Boaz Yakin (Remember the Titans), Brittany Murphy stars as Molly Gunn, the daughter of a dead rock star, who lives off her inheritance and has never worked a day in her life. When her father's estate is swindled away from her, Molly suddenly finds her life of luxury and excess pulled out from under her. Begrudgingly, she decides that she has to get a job and is hired as a nanny for Ray Schliene (Dakota Fanning), the daughter of record executive Roma Schliene (Heather Locklear). At first Molly can't shake her spoiled-brat personality, but eventually she and Ray discover that they have a lot in common and a strong bond is formed. Jesse Spencer plays Molly's boyfriend, and Donald Faison, who previously worked with Murphy in Clueless, plays another record executive who offers Molly a place to live until she gets on her feet. ~ Matthew Tobey, Rovi All Movie Guide

After viewing Uptown Girls I thought it was a good movie that gave me a few good laughs. I thought it was interesting that 8 year Ray had to teach Molly to act her age. I thought it was interesting for the fact that I have seen this situation in real life. Also I thought the movie had a very good ending and yes I do believe every ending is just the start of a new beginning!

After viewing the movie uptown girls, I felt like the movie was good, but I just didnt enjoy the movie. I felt there was not a good enough story and the plot was not existance and the character that was Britney Murphy protrated was just too 'Blonde' & the kid that she baby sat was too young to do that anyway, the movie was alright for a 'chick flick'

I love Brittany Murphy, I just couldn't stand this movie! It was too light and fluffy, and Brittany looked like she was on crack! Her makeup artist needs to be fired! Dakota Fanning was awsome though!

Dakota Fanning and Britney Murphy make a pretty good pair. Dakota who is the side of being independent at a young age, while Britney Murphy still has the 'girls just wanna have fun' type but both are the same. In the movie, it proves that Britney Murphy is still this type becuse of her friends and having no parents as she grew up. Dakota Fanning, on the other hand is the type that has everything she ever wanted because her mother is simply too busy to care. Something worthwhile to rent at blockbuster. Shows the good sides and comedic sides.

I loved this movie. I can understand why some people would criticize it, but I thought it was charming and adorable and touching.
