This was a very heart warming story of sacrifice. Enjoyed it so much, however my movie had an audio problem. I had to turn the TV up to full volume to hear it.

My husband and I thought this was a wonderful movie. Peter O'Tool's performance was award winning. We will make this a family tradition to watch along with \"It's a Wonderful Life\" during the Christmas holidays.

Jared Padalecki is one of his generation's finest actors. He took what is a mediocre script and transformed it into a wonderful, heartfelt performance that won't soon be forgotten. Marcia Gay Harden and Peter O'Toole were wonderful as well. O'Toole gave his Glen a very dramatic flair, as is expected for an artist of his talent. Harden is the soft-spoken Mary Ann whose pride and giving sprit almost cost her the house she so loved. The other characters do their parts, but overall, this is memorable mostly for the understated, excellent performance of Jared Padalecki.

I PURCHASED THIS MOVIE HOPING FOR A CHRISTMAS MOVIE MY ENTIRE FAMILY COULD VIEW. IT WAS NOT SUCH A MOVIE!IT HAD A LOT OF PROFANITY AND SUGGESTIVE MATERIAL. I WAS NOT EXPECTING THIS FROM A MOVIE WITH THOMAS KINKADE'S NAME ON IT. AFTER FORTY-FIVE MINUTES WE GAVE UP HOPE AND REMOVED THE DISK FROM THE PLAYER.I'M VERY SORRY I WASTED MY MONEY ON IT.

I purchased this movie with some trepidation, expecting too much sugary sentiment. I was wrong!! It's got some spice to it; and Peter O'Toole's performance pulls you right into the movie. This movie breaks your heart and then refills it with joy and hope!!Want to be happy this Christmas?....watch this movie!! I loved it. (And take the PG rating seriously, no little kids. There is some 'language' and a few tarnished characters.)

This movie was somewhat slow in parts. The scenery was quite pleasant to watch. How Thom made his mark in life and his beginning artistry was very interesting. While there were some parts that didn't move along, I think it was worth watching.

As a collector and former employee of a TK Gallery, I so much appreciated seeing this movie, and the wonderful Actors in it. It was very well done, and true to Thomas Kinkades' life while an aspiring artist. Peter O'Tool was, as always, magnificent & stellar with his performance as Thom's Mentor, Glen, and Marcia Gay Harden was phenomenal as Thom's Mother. I was very excited to see Jared Padalecki playing the part of Thomas Kinkade; he was superb!A few of the scenes were a bit corny, like during the tree lighting ceremony, but it made for a very entertaining part of the whole story, as it is based on a true story regarding that year in Thom's life. Unfortunately, it was only available on DVD, but I did have a special invitation and was privileged to see it on the big screen. I believe it would have done very well at the box office, as I know a lot of people are Thomas Kinkade fans. If not, they may have become one.Thank You, Thomas Kinkake, and kudos to everyone involved with the making of \"The Christmas Cottage\" I will be anxiously awaiting the sequel, which hopefuly will continue on with his life story from that point. As a whole, I thought the film was very well done, heart-felt and enjoyable. I loved it and highly recommend seeing it!

This is one of the worst movies I've seen, esp. for Christmas. Why did ANY of these actors want to be in this movie??? This also makes Thomas Kinkade look very bad. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone!

I was very disappointed when we saw this film. I got this for my husband as part of his Christmas. We went to my sister to watch on Christmas and because of all of the foul language. We turned it off after about 5 minutes if even that long. I will discard this DVD and not offer it to anyone else. I was very shocked with the film, I thought Thomas was a christian artist and author. No more for me....
