Spookley the Square Pumpkin, based on a story by Joe Toriano, concerns a pumpkin named Spookley who suffers serious abuse at the hands of other pumpkins because of his unusual shape. Our three year-old son loves this story. It's about diversity, acceptance and getting along with others. Spookley is the small, square pumpkin in the pumpkin patch. The round pumpkins make fun and tease him. The scarecrow, bats and spiders eventually help all the farm dwellers come to appreciate and enjoy the differences life hands them. There are quite a few songs and adventures with all the characters.
