First time with a tunch screen stereo system and I'm loving it and the remote that came with it

It says it's iPhone compatible, it's not. Mirror Link only works with one phone on the entire planet. (new Samsung Galaxy). But what ticks me off the most is if your phone is connected to BT (so you can talk through the speakers), you can't ever play Pandora and half the time no music will play at all. But I will say the sound quality on it is EXCELLENT. five stars in that department no doubt. Had a Jensen before this and this destroys it in sound quality. One cool thing that not many people would mention is the backgrounds and the touch effects. you can set it to leave a cool trail behind where your finger touches the screen. it's a nice touch and makes it look really expensive. also the lay out and functionality is very good. it's really easy to use. you can also set the background to like 10 different moving backgrounds that are all really cool and will throw the name of the song into the motion flawless and it's super cool to look at.

Love this deck. Took a while to figure out how to use all functions. Mirror link only works with a couple android phones. So make sure you check out if yours will work before buying. I use my iPhone but had to buy the av cable that makes it fully functional with passenger app control. My family can watch Netflix and YouTube while driving pandora is awesome. You have to buy gps motionx app for you iPhone if you want a gps. Its like .99cents well worth it great gps. The question is what can't this deck do if you know what your doing.

Overall, this is a pretty nice system. It sounds good and the color is great. It has a lot of features that come in handy. The mic is not so great as no one can ever seem to hear me and I am not one who speaks softly! The screen has a delay that is fairly annoying. Anytime you go back to the home screen you have to wait for a few seconds before hitting the next source on the screen, otherwise you will have to hit it twice EVERY time! Also, if I turn off the car while listening to Sirius, when I turn the car back on there is no sound half of the time. I have to switch the source to get the sound back and then I can switch it back to Sirius. The Sirius interface is quite annoying however. Instead of staying on the screen that has all of the presets so it would be easy to change between channels, the screen changes to just the channel and song info after like 5 seconds and then if you don't like what is playing you have to hit the back button to get you back to the screen with all of the presets! If you don't choose within like 5 seconds though, it switches back to the screen with just the song info again. This is SUPER annoying!! Now, I just use the remote to flip between my presets because having to mess with the screen to change the presets is a HUGE distraction while driving and I am rather good at multitasking! Another complaint is about the detachable faceplate. The idea of this is nice but the cheap cover they give you isn't going to protect it. Also, they say that the screen is not rated for the heat!! It is in a car for goodness sakes!!! Why do they not make it so it can withstand some heat!!? Sony did not make it easy to detach this plate either. Every time I do it, I feel as though I am going to break it off! My friend did it once and ended up pushing the radio behind the dash kit in one corner!! The install was not so great either. The radio has pre-drilled holes for Toyota and Mitsubishi but NOT for Honda! In my car it is necessary to use the OEM brackets as they attach to the climate controls as well, but the radio will not screw onto the brackets properly. This makes the radio sit at an odd angle which makes it hard to see the screen, especially if you are in the back seats. I would say the install was the most annoying default of this radio. The others can be worked around. I do enjoy the radio and all of my friends are taken with it as well. For the price though, I just wish Sony would have paid a little more attention to the details.

I got this for our Volvo XC90 for a couple of reasons. First I wanted to use the mirror link for navigation by coupling it with my iPhone. Even though the packaging, written material and advertising say made for iPhone, this technology doesn't work with the iPone. In fact, the only way I discovered this was by looking in the manual and in small print it gives you a web site to look up compatibility. Only two phones will work with the mirror link and neither is the iPhone - lame! Another reason I got it was for the BlueTooth connectivity. This is extremely slow when you first get in and turn on the car. It has to go through this warn up period and then you have to select the phone every time from the stereo touch screen. More trouble than it's worth. Another reason I thought this would be great was the touch screen HiDef display. Yes the screen clarity is great. However, it won't play while the car is in drive and the touch function is not like any touch screen I've used. It is hard to select the icon you want. It is hard to work the playback controls. It is hard to use in any function I tried. Another downer is that none of my rear speakers worked since it only has 4 outputs for speakers, which is true for any after market stereo, but unlike other stereos there isn't an amp for the remaining speakers. That left me with 8 useless speakers! The final downfall is that you aren't supposed to leave the unite in the car if it's over 110 F. I live in Georgia and park on the street. That's a regular interior temp inside the vehicle 8 months of the year. You can remove the faceplate but it's the size of a medium tablet, only 3 times as thick. I replaced this worthless, expensive stereo with a much more affordable Alpine stereo with BlueTooth link and a power amp. Now I'm rocking out with the volume at not even a third of maximum!

I returned the pioneer AVH-P1400DVD because i wanted Bluetooth connection built in and the sound had terrible static. I have always installed radios in my own cars just nothing i did worked. Even had a professional installer take a look at it and he could not make it stop. I returned the radio and bought this one yesterday and could not have made a better choice. Installed myself in my Nissan Titan hook up was simple just match colors. It has a front and back usb. I like to use the one in back because the face detaches and prefer not to keep taking the cord on and off also has aux in pack but aux wire not included just bought my own and ran the wires threw the car panels. The mic and blue tooth was excellent no echo in background when calling or receiving phone calls. I like to use the blue tooth to stream my music from my iPhone as well as Pandora. Syncs and starts every time. I Will be buying another stereo today to put in my wife's Nissan pathfinder.. EXCELLENT EXCELLENT RADIO....

This is more or less a false promise. (1) It says (like everyone else has mentioned) that it is compatible for the iPhone via MirrorLink. This is false. "Apple devices (iPhones, iPads, and iPod touch) do not work with MirrorLink. That's because most stereos already work with Apple devices, just via the USB cable. MirrorLink is designed to be the bridge for all of the OTHER smartphones - eventually." http://www.crutchfield.com/S-EwSM69truhm/learn/mirrorlink-and-your-car-stereo.html That's not my only complaint however- (2) The "GPS Display" can only really be used by certain apps. Don't waste your time on the research though. The Apps compatible with this "high end" deck aren't worth your time. They are poorly supported and hardly get you where you need to go. (3) In order for me to get the radio on this fabulous looking deck, I have to purchase ANOTHER harness for my steering wheel and an adapter for the deck. That doesn't sound too bad until you put in the extra cost to get back what you already had! ($~85 for both including shipping.) My advice to people in the market, please please please do a thorough research on the deck and make sure it's 100% what you want. If you invest the time and money into something like this, you'd better be sure you can live with it!

Well... The hype tells you can do many things with this radio, reality says no you cannot. 1st of all Drive link is the way you access head unit, there is very and I mean very limited things you can do in drive link and while using drive link. Drive link will let you connect phone and mirror screen in only drive link app. Meaning you can access and look at drive link only on your head unit nothing else except if you use navigation. here is where things get screwy. While in DL (drivelink) you cannot access your phone normally text messages e-mails etc. you cannot listen to the radio, you cannot listen to pandora via the bluetooth wireless connection in fact DL forbids bluetooth wireless and it run simultaneously. So save your money! however if dont use DL pandora streaming is pretty nice with thumbs up and down buttons and song info on screen. hands free speakerphone is fair, everyone says you sound far away or hollow. the reason for buying this is for connectivity to your phone which as of right now it does not do well. Haven't bothered with navigation because I dont want to drive and not have radio or pandora playing.
