Worked well for about a week. After two or three rainfalls, the ability to acquire signal dropped drastically. First thing in the morning, it takes close to 5 minutes to receive signal and then it drops with underpasses, tree cover, etc.

I was happy to find an antenna still around for my old Sirius radio. Its nice when electronics don't become useless in a year.

My radio is portable. The cable broke at the end that goes into the radio. There is a "strain relief" built into the plug/cable but it doesn't really work. The cable just breaks at the end of the hard plastic plug. This antenna is a good replacement for the original but it has the same problem and will, eventually break again. I'm being more careful with this one so that it doesn't break as quickly.

The Magnetic Mount Antenna are cheaply made, they don't last more than 1-3 years. If you want satellite radio this is what you're forced to buy.

antenna is too small and too expensive but since only way to get my sirius radio to work had to purchase

Reception good but magnet part broke 1st week of buying product.

Since the antenna is exposed to the elements, eventually each one of my antennas wore a tiny hole exposing the metal twisted wire. This was enough to make it konk out, esp in the rain or snow. Unfortunately I really like my radio- I drive a lot and tire of my iPod- so I suck it up and buy another each time. I dont' know if I would "recommend this item to a friend," as it depends on how important that radio is to you.

You WILL buy this one again. No, not because it is so great but because it will fault on you and you will have to buy another antenna. This in my third antenna! I guess that they will keep it this way- why produce a better one when you guarantee continued repeat sales? Look for an alternative.

These are not built to last as I'm on my third one but you have no choice if you want to listen in your car. Sirius sent me the 2nd one for free but wouldn't send another so I had to buy one so I could keep listening to their pay service?? Once Howard retires I'm through with Sirius.

This product is great, it's my second one since I've broke the original one a few years ago. Great for the pool deckside rail only and gets a great reception as well!

My previous antenna had been on the vehicle for six years. That antenna was the antenna provided with the Sirius radio. The new antenna is lower profile than the previous antenna. My vehicle is parked outside in the rain and snow. The vehicle has over 140,000 miles, so these antenna can take a lot of weather. Hope the new unit lasts as long as the previous unit.

I'm a big time NASCAR FAN, I purchased this for my portable sirius radio dock so I can get the race at work when it get's delayed because of rain, and at the tracks that I go to for the race. Works very well.

Had to replace my old antenna that had failed after 6 years. I guess nothing lasts forever. I would have hoped the old antenna had lasted longer, but the wire is to thin and you can't just replace the wire.....bummer !!

Best Buy can only sell the products available. SiriusXM (or is it 2 companies as claimed by Howard Stern?) continues to produce antennas that are too fragile for normal use. I have been a subscriber for 5 years and. you guessed it, this is the 5th antenna! The aftermarket knock offs do not seem to be any better. Best Buy - thanks for the convenience of having inventory to help out a satellite junkie in need of a working satellite system.

The antenna is used in my travel trailer and works exactly as expected. The price, however, in my opinion is out of line with the worth of the product.

this is the 2nd one in 6 months and i decided to just crack it open and see whats going on. the XM ones have issues with the super thin coax breaking inside making it useless. these have better coax, but still should not do anything where its moving alot like on the trunk lid. anyways i cracked it open and figured out why you need to replace there every few months. the WATER/moisture will get inside the antenna through the button, which is of course recessed to allow water to sit inside and seep in (their waterproofing consists of double sided sticky tape). the water gets in and settles just above the magnet itself and starts rusting everything- they did a great job of sealing the bottom where the magnet is! the metal rusts fast and furious especially in the north in winter with the salt! the shield of the coax is not connected or soldered to the magnet but just placed on top for a poor physical contact. ideally no water gets in = good connection from the ground and the magnet. when the magnet gets rusty you get a bad (if any) contact to the shield which makes the antenna perform worse and worse over time. the only reasonable way to avoid this is to place in the rear window, inside, or possibly put a plastic bag over it if mounted outside? i dont think 3cc of good 3M weatherproof adhesive would cost them much (maybe 3 cents?). they make it so it will break and we will have to shell out $30 every few months for something that cost .30 to make. best buy sells an internal antenna with better gain, you could put this in the back window even. i attached a photo of what the inside of this ant looks like after 6 months. you can see where the sticky tape didnt do its weatherproofing job and stained with rust everywhere.

It is called a roof mounted antenna, but lasts longer if it is installed on the dash. The signal is stong and you do not have to worry about how the elements will affect it.
