I cannot count the number of times over the years that I have been gathered with my siblings and friends, whether it be at a restaurant, a holiday gathering or an evening playing cards, and someone has burst into a school house rock song. Once we get going, its an all-night schoolhouse song-a thon. Even our children know all the words. We pounced on the opportunity to buy the video and so should anyone else. And it is more than good fun -- If it wasn't for the songs, I would have never remembered my times tables!

I used to watch them when I watched Saturday morning cartoons. I learned more from them than I did from some teachers I had. Teachers should use them in elementary classrooms.

I still remember taking a 7th grade US History Quiz where I had to write the Preamble to the Constitution. The ENTIRE CLASS was humming to the tune of SchoolHouse Rock. The only quiz ever that the entire class aced. A Must Buy!!!

Not only is this collection a trip down Memory Lane for this thirty-something guy, but, while I was watching it, my 2.5 year old daughter climbed into my lap after her bath and kept asking for more whenever one ended. Two months later, she walks around the house singing ''Lolly, Lolly'', ''Conjunction Junction'' and a few other tunes. This DVD struck a cross-generational chord - and that's why it's worth every penny I paid. Aside from the educational value, the songs are catchy and enjoyable. The extra features are great and I'm glad these tunes have been release to the public. Somehow, the 5 star rating is not enough, IMHO.

I'm a thirty something year old mother of a 4 year old girl. I JUMPED at the chance to get this DVD for my daughter! I'm not surprised at all that my daughter loves this DVD and watches it every chance she gets. My biggest surprise is that after all these years, I can remember most, if not all, of the lyrics to these songs!

It's been three years ago since I bought this DVD. I knew the DVD would include every single song that Schoolhouse Rock has ever produced and I already know pretty much every song. I first discovered it on ABC in 1997 and I remember watching it in my History class in middle school. No matter the grade levels, this 2-disc set is a must-have for any school or home. Schoolhouse Rock ROCKS!!!

It has been about 20 years since I have seen this and I can still sing all of the songs! Every child should watch this! Not only is it educational, but now it serves as a lesson in history of it's own accord. Buy it!

School House Rock is the best! When I was in 4th greade my teacher used it to help us learn out multiplication fact, it worked! I think it should be used in all elementary classrooms.

I remember growning up on Schoolhouse rock. I learned the pre-amble to the Constitution by watching Schoolhouse Rock, and just in time because I was in the 6th grade back when it was still considered elementary school(1980) and for our final exam for the 6th grade in Social Studies, we had to recite the preamble to the constitution. I was so excited that when it was my turn, I stood right up and started sing,"We the people, in order to form a more perfect union, establish justice insure domestic tranquility eee....." My teacher laughed but at the same time gave me an A+ because he said I used my spare time wisely! That was 25 years ago, and I now have a 6th grader myself, who is in Middle School and I want her to experience the same wonderful part of childhood that I did. Thanks!!!!

Since we seem to be in the car a lot, I usually have my twin 4 year olds watch educational DVDs while we are out. I bought the Schoolhouse Rock DVD recently and it is amazing how much they have picked up already from watching it.

It reminds me of what was best about being a kid in the 70s and my nephews and nieces love it. There is so much creativity in learning and entertainment here that we just don't get with a many media creations today.

This video is an excellent tool for the classroom. We all know that it's easier to learn information when it's put to music. These individual lessons create a friendly learning atmosphere for students to learn important lessons in all core areas. I would highly recommend it to every educator, especially in the elementary levels. It is also great review for middle school and high school students.

These songs realy teach. The creaters wanted to find a way to use music to teach school subjects. They really succeeded with this series. Having all the sings on one DVD can make this a handy tool for parents and teachers.

Just received this in the mail and, it's just as good as I remember it was when I was a kid. My eight-year old is eating this UP!!! I love that he can watch these songs/cartoons over and over again and learn at the same time!

I use the tunes to re-inforce my lessons. It's also fun to just hand over the the remote and let the students pick the subject. After humming a few bars of "Lolly, Lolly get your adverbs here.." or "Conjunction Junction, what's your function..." they start to remember and apply what they've learned.

My granddaughter is only 14 months, so she's only really interested in dancing to the music but I know it will be a perfect learning tool. Schoolhouse Rock helped me and my children learn in a fun and engaging way. Well into my 40's, I still remember all the words to the different songs! That's not just memorization, it's learning.

This has all the classic songs including "I'm only a Bill; Conjunction, Junction What's Your Function?" The songs were great in the 70's. They are still good in 2010 as kids still love them and can learn from them. The Multiplication Rock Series with "Three is a Magic Number" is a classic also. This song helped every kid in the 70's memorize the "Preamble" to the Constitution. "Lolly Lolly Lolly Get Your Adverbs here" helped kids when they got to diagraming sentences. "A Noun is a Person Place or Thing" also was fun and helped kids learn grammar. We have a copy of this DVD and as parents we enjoy it as much as our kids.

This collection is great. I was really surprised just how much was included with this set. As a teacher, this is a great way to engage kids and also get them to learn a thing or two, of course with some reinforcing. I knew Schoolhouse had great content for grammar and history, but I didn't know it also has math content. This set also has a feature where you can build a play list of just the items you want to show, or you can play them all and enjoy! This collection is definitely worth the money, I would highly recommend it to anyone considering this purchase.

This was as great as I remembered it. Great for children up to age 10-12. It's an easy way for them to remember math, great for the explanation of grammar... I only wish that there were a canadian version for the political side but there is enough similarity and prompts them to ask questions about the differences with our politics. The only thing that I found came close to this teaching is "The Electric Company".I have many of mothers which are friends wanting to go out and buy it after seeing their children watch it here.

I bought this DVD specifically to use in my classroom. All of the segments are great, but the history and government/econ portions are what I was after. They are a great way to introduce a topic to my students in an entertaining way and half the time I find them singing the songs to themselves as a study tool later on. As a teacher, I love it when I can find something that makes my job a little easier and fun.

I remember getting up on Saturday mornings and wondering which one of the School House Rock teachings was going to role. This brings back great memories yet, I didn't really realize that would use these rhymes my entire life. I bought 2 DVDs, one for my grand-daughter and one for me. There are teachings on the DVD that are either new or I don't remember. I would recommend this DVD to be played in every household that has children.

Every time a commercial would come on on Saturday morning....Oh, I wanted so bad for it to be School House Rock!!! I learned my '3's' just by singing...When I learned there was to be a video coming out I was excited!!! I have 5 year old twins and we play this video in the car and at home.. They know 5's, 3's, and How a bill becomes a law... It's Great!!!!!!!!!!!We have bought this video for their Pre-K 4 class and for several birthday gifts..Thank you School House Rock for helping me learn during my childhood (I am 40 now) and for giving my children a wonderful learning tool.

Most of my favorites are on this Video. I love the DVD version, but whatever you like. You will help your kids so much by exposing them to these wonderful songs. Nothing teaches like a great song. They'll never forget it! You don't either, right? ''Conjunction Junction!''...
