I think this product does the job. You can't tell there is a lock from the outside, but the cabinet doors won't budge. Locks automatically, very easy to use. One problem... if you have a husband that misplaces things from time to time, this may not be for you. The lock specifically needs their key to operate, and if it becomes lost, you will need to make a special trip to Babies R Us in your "spare time". Recommend buying an extra lock and hiding it in your sock drawer!

I have locked all the cabinets and drawers in the kitchen. My little one was starting to find that opening and closing doors was fun. I love how they lock the doors tight so she can't put her fingers in between the cracks that was something I was worried about. The only set back is you have to get use to where the magnets are set on the drawers so you can open them. If you go by the installation instructions you may get confused but don't get deterred by that just use your carpenter's skill.

Pros: These are a great deterrent and are not seen at all from the outside of the cabinet. They were fairly easy for my husband to install. Locking mechanism can be switched off. Cons: sort of a pain to fumble for the key every time you need to open the cabinet. If you lose the key you'll have to go out and get a new one to get into your cabinet.

My twin boys at 18 mo quickly figured out various child proof latches to kitchen drawers and cabinets (once they we tall enough) so needed something foolproof. This product is by far the best for ensuring safety and at 2 years old they still can't get in. But - be aware- use when they can't see you since one of my boys had the magnet and was trying to copy me opening the door. I don't usually like posting on boards - but in terms of children's safety - this is a must.
