"I added a few pieces from this collection to our wedding registry and my cousins bought it all and I just love it! It's so pretty, yet not too fancy for everyday. I just wish all the colors were available for every piece. White it great for highlighting food, but the other colors are so pretty too!"

"Pieces are very pretty and perform well, however, you must be careful not to chip them. On my very first washing the casserole lid slipped out of my hands and I chipped the base. It was very unfortunate, and I was very bummed. However, I still love the pieces and I plan on purchasing other pieces. I have baked stuffing, chicken and other items in the casserole and both came out nicely."

"I received these dishes as a wedding gift. They are classic and clean looking. They look like hand-thrown pottery. The bowls don't stack up perfectly even, but they do stack inside of each other. They fit easily into our dishwasher and come out clean every time. Also, they do not get too hot when used in the microwave - which is a huge plus."

"These dishes are so pretty and unique. I got them for Christmas and am so excited to use them. Each place setting came wrapped ina nice box which made them appear even nicer!!! I have been searching for over a year for new plates and I am so happy these are the ones I found!!!!!"

"I purchased these dishes a few weeks ago. Only used twice and scratches appeared on one plate. Used everyday fork and knife.Didn't even put in the dishwasher. Sorry to say a few days later more scratches on another plate. I sent back to the manufacturer for inspection. These are beautiful to look at and claim to be durable but I'm sad to say I doubt they will hold up to normal everyday use. I read all the reviews before I decided to purchase which for the most part were very positive. And searched for the perfect white everyday dinnerware."

"We got place settings in the white, blue, and green (really love them all) but noticed the blue color is already showing faint scratches. Has anyone else noticed this about the blue? I see other reviews talk about scratches but do not mention color. The white does not seem to show scratches but I am guessing the green will begin to show scratches soon.We've been using them for 2 months and otherwise they are wonderful."

"We have registered for these dishes and serving pieces for our upcoming wedding. The style of these goes with everything! They are quirky and modern, casual and formal all at the same time.We have had no problems at all with quality, and we have even used them in the oven and microwave repeatedly. And yes, we even used steak knives on them! Not a scratch has resulted from any use of these dishes.These make a great gift. I just wish there were even more pieces!"

"After reading so many reviews of stoneware chipping during the first month of use, I decided to purchase porcelain. I have been using these dishes for 8 months and have not experienced any scratching or chipping. The unique design will work in either a formal or casual situation. You won't grow tired of it. If you only purchase the 4 piece setting, measure out 1 cup of cereal in the bowl, otherwise you will over eat. I use the rice bowl for cereal as well as deserts to help with portion control. The bistro bowls are great for pasta. The teapot, with graceful proportions, is a must. The sugar bowl has an opening in the top so a serving spoon can be left in. These dishes are large, so they will take up more room in your dishwasher, and you will run it more often. Other than white, I wish the color choices were more sophisticated. Love these dishes!"

"My husband and I loved the look of this everyday dinnerware as the perfect blend of casual to formal. We bought 10 place settings and several of the serving pieces. Unfortunately after just one use, you could see visible scratch marks on the plates from fork and knife use and we never even used steak knives! I think because of the ripple design, scratch marks are going to happen and on some plates it is so bad it is just plain unattractive. I can't imagine what these plates will look like in a year. They are going back and it's a shame as we love the look."

"While searching Macy's for wedding gifts (three coming up), I spotted these dishes on display. A friend was along and we both liked the style so much. I went back the next day and used my coupons and the sale price to buy a set of six for myself along with some serving dishes. I am sitting at my computer drinking from the very nice coffee cup...nice look, nice weight and nice style. I can't wait for an excuse to set a pretty table for a gathering. Debated about white or blue and decided white will be easy for a long, long time. Love them. (My friend has a flowered set of Portmeirion and says they wear very well...no chipping.)"

"We got these dishes along with many of the serving pieces as part of our wedding registry about a year ago. A year later I love them and I'm very happy with my choice. No chipping, minimal scratching and they look great for any occasion. The serving pieces also mix in well with our china when needed. Also check out the glass wear that goes with it!"

"I have always loved Alice in Wonderlands tipsy tea pot, hand thrown porcelain and dishwasher proof dinnerware. Sophie Conran's Portmeirion fits the bill! I feel like I have been searching for modern meets romantic all of my shopping life. I am collecting the biscuit and celadon, they will go well with all the other colors I use and food will look delicious on them.I also love the variety of cup and bowl sizes. I especially love Macy's for putting this pattern on sale!"

"My husband and I were looking for a new everyday set of dinnerware that could also be used for special occasions. We immediately loved the look and feel of this set. It is perfect, not too heavy, not too light, and it is enjoyable to eat off of. They seem to be easy to care for as well, and are "ovenproof" which I don't think we'll need, but that sounds like they'll be nearly indestructable, which is nice with two young boys in the house. We have only had them for a week, so I don't know how they'll wear over time. We certainly love them so far!"

"We recieved this set as a wedding gift. They work and look great. We've used them in the microwave and oven without any problems. washing them is easy. We use them everyday and havent had any problems as far as scratching. they are the best gift i think we recieved. I will continue to add to the peices i already have."

"Yes, these are great looking pieces, but after using them for a month the dinner plates are already starting to scratch. I'm very annoyed and disappointed. I bought these to replace plates I've had for 8 years that had begun to scratch--after only a month the new plates are starting to look just as bad. Argh. Maybe that's why they were on sale?"

"When I first saw this set, it was because it was on a friend's registry. My first impression of it was, "Are they kidding?", It's so simple. But, you know, the more I thought about it and looked at it, I could see it's qualities. It's simple, but it's sophisticated, it's modern, but it looks like it was done by a potter, it's simple, but it has a shiny glaze which makes it elegant when you want it to be elegant and casual when you want it to be casual. And, they say it can go in the fridge, the microwave, the dishwasher, even the freezer (although I'm not sure that I'd try that). Once I decided to try it on for size at my home, I picked up all 4 colors. I knew that I didn't want all white, but which ones were up in the air. Good thing I did, because they are subtle colors and the way the light hits the room at various times of the day affected how the colors looked on the table. For example, the sage is so similar to the celadon in certain light that I decided to forget the sage and went with the white, the biscuit and the celadon. BTW, the biscuit, which looked like beige to me in the store, looks like coffee ice cream in my kitchen. It's so lovely a color, I never would have guessed! So soothing. The blue celadon is peaceful, the white is bright and nice at night when the room is dimly lit; it stands out. I have decided to do this: for every settings of four, I will have two whites, one celadon and one biscuit. That way, if I have 12 place settings, 6 will be white. If I have a small group, the table could possibly be one color. Or, I can mix and match also. After years of traditional things, dishes, furniture, I was ready for a change and this is it."

Because we purchased the dinnerware in white we were able to keep some of our fun bright accessory pieces to use with the dishes as an accent piece.
