I'm always looking for really cool drawing tools and these pens are fantastic. Unlike Sharpies which bleed through to the back of the paper, Flairs give an intense black line without the smell or bleed-through. They also don't change color like Sharpie's often do. They are terrific for stippling or cross-hatching and never change intensity or line shape as you're using them. I highly recommend their use by novices and professionals alike. They are really great on a smooth bond paper. They are not permanent so cannot be used as an outliner for other water-soluble color.

I have tried many pens for writing and drawing and the black Flair is the best for line drawing. It has a bolder line and the ink is wonderfully dense and consistent. I've never had a problem with a Flair skipping or dragging. The points are excellent and, unlike some felt tip pens, will never separate or get fuzzy. I've been using them for years and I'm delighted they are still being produced.

Bring the prices down that is commensurate with the pen that runs out of ink fast.

I just saw this and am going around counting my existing supply of 'classic' Flairs. They have RUINED this pen with a spurious, ridiculous re-design. I've been using Flairs for 30 years everyday, all day. They have taken AWAY the textured knurled barrel, they have taken AWAY the banded white plastic tip. I am scared and disheartened. I write music all day for students and myself. I will be scouring all the local Staples, [@] and mom and pop stores for existing 'old-stock'. VERY disappointed. I'll buy a case if you find one... Horrible decision. Horrible.

After a thousand years why do a redesign of this gem of a pen now? It just goes to prove, 'Change is certain, progress is not'.
Very unfortunate when a long-term relationship comes to an end. -

I have always used papermate products and truly love these perticular markers. The only con I have is that they don't last long for the money you spend on them.

I searched for this type of pen, so I can use it in the classroom. This is a must have for my students - the writing stand outs, without bleeding through the paper.

The grooves are gone at the grip.
Price increased for an inferior product.
Disappointing.
Will look for the old design. -

IN WRITING MUSIC YOU NEED A PEN THAT CAN MAKE THIN LINES AND IS ABLE TO FILL IN THE CIRCLES FOR THE NOTES AND BE ABLE TO DO IT QUICKLY. I HAVE BEEN USING THIS PEN SINCE HIGH SCHOOL BACK IN THE 1960'S, WOULD NOT TRADE IT FOR ANYTHING ELSE AND I HOPE YOU KEEP PRODUCING IT. THANK YOU. JZ.

Classic Flair pens have been my standard for over 35 years. They last a long time, write beautifully, and
repro well. Always reliable, perfect for writing, drawing, layouts, sketches, accounting, whatever.
I use them so exclusively, they've become a trademark with me. Your signature becomes so much more distinctive when written with Flair! -

These pens write both forewards and backwards.
Upper and lower case.
When you run out of words, they stop.
