Recognized as the global leader and driving force in the computer entertainment industry, Sony Computer Entertainment sets a new standard for entertainment on the go with the PSP (PlayStation Portable) handheld entertainment system. PSP is the first truly integrated handheld entertainment system designed to handle multiple applications - music, video, communication, and wireless networking, with games as its primary driver. PSP brings an unparalleled gaming experience to a handheld platform, allowing users to enjoy 3D games, with high-quality, full-motion video, and high-fidelity stereo audio. With graphics rendering capability comparable to that of PlayStation®2, PSP features a 4.3-inch wide screen, high-resolution TFT display. PSP also adopts a newly developed, proprietary compact but high-capacity (1.8GB) optical disc, Universal Media Disc (UMD), as its storage medium.

To protect this entertainment content, Sony Computer Entertainment has developed a robust copyright protection system has been developed which is a combination of a unique disc ID, a 128-bit AES encryption keys for the media, and individual ID for each PSP hardware unit. 5.0 / 5.0

The psp is one of the most amazing systems Ive seen, smaller than a ps2 faster than a ps3 and ps2 graphics. The problems I see with it is that there is a poor game selection and you pretty much got to be a adult to play most of the games that are good. But there are a few that I like that are teen, untold legends warriors code, madden 09 and ratchet and clank are good. The thing that got to me is the design, it slips right out of your hand if you play it non stop like I do. And another thing i don't get is how people can't get there's hooked up to the internet! You need one thing A WIRELESS ROUTER! I hate wireless but seeing as most of my contraptions take wireless (wii, psp, comp, ds, ipod and celly) I got a Linksys Wireless N router and is ok, sometimes i get connection problems but whatever. So in conclusion the psp rocks!

The psp is basically just a weaker version of the PS2. When I first heard this I was kinda excited, considering that was my favorite console. Quickly after I took it out of the case and started playing, I was DEEPLY disappointed. The first thing was definitely the control. Using the analog nub is incredibly annoying and your finger slides off way to easy. The second thing was the games. I tried some of the "best" games for psp including Crisis Core, and God of war. Crisis Core is seriously just a dumbed down kingdom hearts where you have very little control over the character, and almost NO challenge in battle. God of War was definitely the better of the two however, I beat it WAY to quickly. Honestly, I'm glad I rented these. I don't mean to sound like a "fanboy" but I recently traded it for a DS and it's definitely more entertaining. The graphics aren't that big a difference, there are plenty of devices you plug in that allow you to play video, mp3, etc, and on top of all this the games blow psp games out of the water. The world ends with you, Zelda phantom hourglass, and Bleach are great games just to name a few on the DS. All in all I recommend the DS for its superior control, especially the touch screen, as well as the better games.

I bought the psp to use as a multimedia device not to play games. Some people say that the psp is to fragile to just stick in your pocket like a mp3 but i have a the GameStop psp case and it doesnt bulk up too much and it protects my psp from drops and protects the screen very well. As a gaming device I use the ds lite the games seem to be lots more fun on the ds than the psp. i carry both my psp and my ds in my backpack since Im a student. Some people say that the psp's music quality isnt good but i have to disagree. I think the quality is great better than the ipod. But the best thing about the psp is the dazzling hd widescreen display. It is just amazing. Watching movies on the psp is much better watching it on my 20' non hd tv. I also use skype (a telephone like device for wifi) and the web browser constantly. The web browser is faster than my friends ipod touch. I love the psp I would recommend it to anyone (over the age of 12) needs some tech skills to put movies and unleash the full potential of the PSP. (Hehe)
