The tablet is great, it is fast and has a great screen. I am disappointed in how Stapes/UPS packaged and shipped the item to the Staples store where I picked it up. The packing material was loose with only one or two inflated plastic bags. The shipping package was badly dented on one corner and the Nexus package inside was also dented. The box was badly taped and not sealed fully. I will be more careful to inspect packages before accepting in the future.

I also own several eink Kindles and an Acer A500.
I believe that this is one of the few products which live up to its hype. If you want a small form factor tablet for transport and weight reasons this is great. If you want to watch streaming video and don't care about weight, you might perfer a 10 incher. Battery life at 9 or so hours is only "ok" for ereading. Nothing beats a n eink reader for outside viewing and/or less recharging.

I decided to invest in the Nexus after considering several tablets, seeking a wifi device to check my gmail and other social media while traveling during the day. After a month of using it, I find it easy to use, easy to set up, with seamless integration with google applications and social media such as facebook and linked in. Finding out that I could upload documents on google drive and have them at my fingertips on my tablet was a real plus.

The only con I have so far is that as an ereader during my commutes, the device is a bit heavy to hold. But otherwise I am enjoying it and recommend it to others.

Difficult to use starting, even though I have Smart phone, but got used to it. Disappointed that it only has a rear camera, and no app to use that one. Disappointed that it doesn't have a Swype keyboard. It would be much easier to use. Overall it does exactly what I need it for, has a great display, and battery life is very good.

My nexus 7 was good at first but then after a couple of months it started crashing but that wasnt very often but now I cant even turn it on and I never dropped it. I find this tablet very bad over all.

Surprisingly versatile, acceptable variety of available apps -- some pretty amazing, although several popular ones are currently incompatible with Android® 4.2 Jelly Bean®; Adobe® Flash® not available for Android, which is moderately inconvenient; handy physical size; 32MB provides ample storage, and easy access to cloud (i.e., Google Drive® & SkyDrive®) gives plenty of latitude; both GoToMyPC® and LogMeIn® function well, provided allowances are made for small screen size; many choices and possibilities for configuration and personalization; robust, stable, and forgiving operating system; fairly intuitive GUI; wide choice of reasonably priced, well-designed covers available *online* -- no need to purchase expensive ones with inflated costs.

I have a total of 3 Nexus 7 tablets now. My grandchildren received their tablets from Santa Claus at Christmas time and they too are loving to use theirs. They are doing school work and reading their AR reading from books we have downloaded. It makes school work easier for them and I can keep up better with them. When they are done they usually put their work on a zip drive and take it and download in the computers at school or either email it to their teachers. I use mine mostly for my google email and playing games. I am sure when I learn everything it can do I will use it more. I like the size and find it easy to carry with me. Enjoying all of our Nexus 7 tablets.

Screen is good and images are clear and crisp.. The Nexus 7 is easy to operate but the construction should be more robust. My personal concern is that there might be a safety issue if the corners/edges separate further. Not absolutely sure this will happen but there is already some separation after just a few weeks of use. Advise a protective cover that includes corner coverage. Otherwise operates fine thus far. Also advise checking regularly for possible separation of the edges. Recommend with reservations.

Admittedly the device works great out of the box, but the data is clear: more than 50% of these devices fail within 6 months. Glitches are expected in new technology but this is outrageous. Of course, you can contact ASUS customer "support" but I found it as helpful as the cable company - incompetent.

I have been impatiently waiting to get one of these and I'm glad I did. This is far better than the version my friend has. The only thing that I wish I had was a camera on both sides. I'm not much for taking pics of myself, and it's difficult to take normal pics with. I would also suggest someone take more interest in the apps in the play store. Some of t them are very deceptive. I'm not sure what the process is for getting an app published, but it seems as though the process needs some checking into. Other than these two things, I absolutely love this device. I've only used my laptop twice in a month.

I love this 7 inch tablet and the pure Google experience, I wish more apps in the Google play store were optimized for a tablet and I wish more apps were compatible with the device. I am sure this will change later as more people get the device and developers develop native apps that don't look like blown up versions of the phone app.The lack of expandable storage and wifi only is a significant drawback, but overall, I really really love this tablet especially when I am at home sitting in bed. It's lighter and easier to just pick up and use. It's not as big or as heavy as my ipad, which makes it really easy for me to hold while laying down.

I love this tablet. It's super fast, has great battery life, and the screen is very near apples retina displays. My only problem is keeping my kids sticky hands off of it, and getting them to realize that it's DADDIES toy... :-)

I use my Nexus everyday. I love the battery life on the device, lasts for at least 5 hours at time and it works well with no hiccups. The games are crisp clear HD. The only thing I wished it had is a rear camera. Than the device would be top of the line and have a 100% from me. Other than that I love this tablet. The price is excellent for all it can do.

Make sure you take out the maintenance contract. Bought one for my wife which she uses all the time but without maintenance contact. Within three weeks had to replace it because somehow it dropped and crack the screen. Bought a second one with MAINTENANCE CONTRACT. Hopefully this one will last.

Gave it 3 stars cause I loved it while it lasted, but I bought the tablet Feb 13 and then totally died (screen went dead) on March 27. I contacted Staples but they won't refund or exchange; told me to contact ASUS instead. I called ASUS company and they will take it back to repair but it may be weeks or months or never if the repair is too bad. So I have no idea when I'll get it back. Given it was only a little over a month, I can't believe Staples can't do more.

The Nexus 7 represents a great value in an Android experience. Always in the first round to receive updates, the "7" is currently delivering a pure Android experience with Jelly Bean 4.2.2. I've found the tablet to be very quick and the 1GB of ram allows for extensive multitasking. I use mine mostly as an e-reader, but also do extensive email processing and internet browsing with the device. I really like the 7" form factor - big enough to see, small enough to carry along. ASUS seems to have done a very good job on constructing the device, although my screen is not totally flush with the bezel surround - but apparently nowhere near as bad as the "screen lift" problem that plagued early versions. There are a variety of cases available - some with magnets to activate the screen off/sleep function. Overall I really like the device and I continue to search for new uses for it.

Nexus 7, 32GB, gives me the versatility in a compact form that permits me to do both business and personal computing/internet-related tasks. I take it everywhere instead of 17.3" laptop!

This 7 inch tablet was a replacement after my 10 inch Transformer Prime was stolen. It is extremely good for what it is. It is a very good value at half the price of the Transformer but, as one should expect, it does not have all the capabilities of the more expensive model.

I'm using this little tablet for organization, scheduling and my calendar, e-reader, games, music, syncing with my Mac. The only major drawback is there are too many apps to pick from. You can spend a lot of time reading, download and trying an app. There are so many that are free you can get rid of the ones you end up rejecting. I am looking forward to being able to sync with my Mac for PowerPoint presentations and controlling my Mac by remote. The battery life has been good. It last all day under heavy use. Most are not going to be used like that anyway. Also, my next area to venture into will be a Bluetooth keyboard.
Our school is considering these for our younger students because of the reasonable cost. Our Middle and High School are "one to one" with Macs.

This tablet is magnificent. Very easy to set up and use right away. Great battery life (about 10 hours). The jelly bean operating system is so easy and efficient. ASUS makes a great product. I have the 10 inch ASUS Transformer and like this device 10 times better.
Don't over pay for the Apple device. This Android product is much easier to useand has plenty of apps. The 32 GB is such a value at this price. I tried the Kindle fire before this device and this Nexus 7 wins hands down. If you can get your hands on one, you won't want to put it down.

I was very excited about getting my first tablet, and the Nexus 7 did not disappoint. I haven't run it completely through its paces, but have downloaded some of my own books and video, as well as using Chrome extensively and checking in on my email multiple times a day.

I've ordered a couple of USB OTG cables, but haven't yet tested the ease of using flash drives as spare storage.

All in all, for both Web browsing and reading email, this tablet shines. The on-screen keyboard is of course slower to type on than a physical keyboard, but with a strong Wi-Fi connection, browsing is otherwise nearly as speedy as I expect from a 30Mb wired connection. Writing lengthy emails likewise is less than efficient. But I find the form factor to be a slam dunk for getting through the inbox. The screen is big enough to show all that you need to see in most cases without scrolling, and managing labels is a breeze.

I love my new tablet. It's fast, efficient and fun to use. It was very easy to set up and to learn how navigate for those not already familiar with Android systems. Founds lots of great apps in Google Play and can do everything I need to. Only found a few misc apps that we use on the iPad that aren't available yet. Hopefully as the tablet gains popularity, the market for apps will grow. Haven't found a cover we like yet since there aren't as many cool accessories out there yet. The Nexus actually feels more sturdy than the iPad so I have been OK without a cover for general use at home. My only true disappointment is the speakers aren't great, but they're not bad either. Obviously the screen resolution is not as good as the iPad but to be honest it hasn't been an issue for me. I am glad that we paid a little more to have the 32 GB memory since I can see how easy it is to fill up with all the things we're using it for. It actually seems to be working faster on WiFi so it's been more efficient to use. I use a lot of Google apps so that may be part of the ease too. I'm starting to like it more than my husband's iPad! Overall, it's great tablet esp. for the price.

The Nexus is a great tablet. It is well constructed, feels good in your hand. The screen is bright & detailed. It is fast in response time & has no issues with any app I found for it.

One of the best parts of Android tablets is the ability to use other App stores beyond Google's. I have installed the Amazon store & and The Humble Bundle to install apps. This gives you access to more apps, more sales (including free apps) & indie content that might not be available through a one stop shop (such as Apple)

I am coming from iphone land so there is a little bit of a learning curve. Things that were almost self explanatory on iOS are not as evident on Android. For instance, sometimes apps do not add themselves to the main screen (they can be found in the app list but they should add themselves I feel).

With Android in general you are given far more customization options (backgrounds, widgets, etc) then you are on iOS. This can be a lot for a new user to get accustomed to. In the end though I believe it will give you a better experience.

We love this tablet. It is the first one we've owned and was hesitant about which brand to buy, but after much research this is the one that was the best for our purposes. We are amazed at the clarity, speed and ease of use. We plan on using this while traveling to help with directions and information.

So I waited and waited to buy a tablet. Finally it looks like a smaller tablet would be a good way to watch movies went I travel.

BIG MISTAKE! Nexus 7 is not the way to go. This is the most frustrating piece of equipment I have ever purchased! If I could find somebody to throw this thing at, I would!

Will not play WMA files. Tried various apps, but no go. Also, I have a bunch of previously purchased ebooks that I can't use as of right now. Still trying but not looking good as the support is only for things from Google play store.
