I noticed that on of the Turines on my house was not turning. I found out that the top bearing went out. I was dreading the thought of having to hire some one to install another unit. Well looking thru this web site I found out that hey a simple Head Only. I can just replace the head instead withouth hiring someone to do it. With that it was simple to install. Taken about 2 minutes after I got on top of the house with the Turbine head only and the cordless driver. The Turbine head fit like a glove and without applying pressure. Great product to have that saves money.

quality product, easy to assemble. I installed 3 by retro-fitting them to existing 12"bases, replacing plain vent caps

I just put in three of these. They were very easy to install. Put them on a shake roof without a hitch. Instructions are accurate.

Terrible quality control, careless workmanship, awful packaging. Worthless instructions printed on outside of carton. No protective packing inside carton. When I carried it to the roof, one of the rivets came loose - Upon close inspection, it appeared to have be damaged in shipping. I was able to replace the rivet myself - Easier than returning the product. Total time to repair/install - 2 hours. Would have been done in 15 minutes if product had been made well, properly inspected & packed, and sent with good instructions. Works fine now.

These turbines were very smooth had a little bit of wobblle but were very quite. Fit on the adapters just like the ones I replaced which had been on for almost 15 years

After reading other reviews here I decided the best thing would be to check the item in the store before purchase. I opened a box, took out the turbine and gave it a spin. Sure enough, it made a clicking sound. I looked for interference between turbine and support and there was plenty of clearance, so it must have been in the bearings. The second one I opened spun silently. My advice, check it out before you purchase, save yourself a trip back to exchange.

Of the turbine vents that were available, this one was the most cost effective. It fit on the existing riser like a glove. I painted mine to match the rest of the house and it did take paint easily, though it did require two coats. Installation was quick, only 30 minutes to remove and replace two vents. So far, they are running smoothly and quietly.

Two out of three worked fine - smooth spinning with only minor asymmetry. The third had to be returned due to being bent during manufacture. The replacement was slightly wobbly due to some bending during manufacturing, but worked OK - spins with some asymmetry.

I bought this replacement turbine head for the one on my garage was over forty years old and not turning any more even with spraying the bearing with WD40.This turbine head is built well, is light weight, and easy to install. Now it spins anytime there is a breeze and it is so quiet you never know if it is spinning or not. I have two old wind turbines on my house that will be geting this new head installed real soon for they both are very old and they squeek when they spin.

Except for having to adjust the holes on the old base a little with a drill, this unit went on with no trouble. It was tested by a severe thunderstorm (thirty to forty mph winds) and came through with no harm.

I installed 2 of these turbines a week ago. They are working find. The only problem one turbine was bent out of shape. I was able to straighten the base and install. Once installed the spinner was rubbing on the outer shell. I was able to correct that with reshaping the metal. The other box was sliced on one side and the sheet metal screw package was missing. I use the existing screw which worked perfectly. A job that should have taken a short time took half hour to compete. I am satisfied with the turbines. They are doing the job of pulling the hot air out of the crawl space of my roof.

I found the ease of installation really excellent and the quietness of the operation. i was so happy with one that I bought a second and replaced another turbine to match the height of each one.

It won't spin unless the wind is really really big. If it not spin, rain and snow will come in to the attic. I will return it tomorrow.

I had 3 old turbines on my home, one stopped spinning and the other squeaked; I decided to replace all 3 at the same time.I returned from the store and discovered one of the new turbines did not rotate freely, the bearing is held in place with a flimsy plastic clip - which was already broken. I returned to the store and obtained a replacement. The 3 new turbines have been in place for a little under 12 months, and one of them has already started squeaking! I'm looking for alternatives to this product, these units are not built to last.Very disappointed with the quality and lack of longevity.

I have installed two of these on my roof with no problem at all. Mine stopped turning, so instead of replacing the entire turbine, I purchased the turbine heads. They work great.

I bought two of these to replace some old, noisy turbine vents. While they look good, they don't spin at all in normal wind. Even with heavy wind, they only turn very slowly. Nothing was damaged, there was just too much friction in the bearings.
