I paid almost 200 dollars for the rechargeable maglight off the tool truck, find a better light with 226 lumens for less than 23 dollars, just bought it but is very bright and just tested against my big mag and yup it's right there with it, used mags forever and this one is built like my old minimags glad to see they haven't given in to the pressure to make it cheaper

Its a maglight, I've had mine for a year now and still works great. I have dropped it at least 5 times from a 6 foot ladder and no troubles. Yeah the switch can sometimes be annoying but, where are you going to get a better, made in usa product? I won't buy anything but a maglight. Would prefer that the switch was just on or off though its not a big deal.

I just bought this yesterday, so I can't comment on it's lifespan. After reading the other reviews I got the flashlight and checked the amount of twists it takes to turn it on; it took one-quarter of a twist.

Twist on is ridiculously unfriendly to use. Flashlight died on me after few uses. I thought the battery died but after replacing batteries I realized this thing is no good.

2.0 / 5.0
Bottom line, unless you usually need the extra bright / far light projection, this item is only mediocre. This does not come with a push button anywhere to eliminate the otherwise ridiculous amount of twist ON twist OFF action otherwise needed to operate this flashlight. The light I admit can be very bright and very focused which is nice... sometimes. That said, I prefer extending the battery life so for me to get to the setting I want 75% of the time I must twist ON, twist OFF, twist ON, & then refocus just to start using it. If you twist it ON & off too fast or too slow you either have to wait to start over or cycle through the settings to bet back to the one you wanted. The battery life on this flashlight seems to be worse than any LED flashlight I've ever used. When the mag Lite dies, it dies quickly. I am use to using Duracell "PreCharged" 2000mAh rechargeable batteries in my flashlights. This flashlight does not last nearly the battery life I usually get with my other LED converted Maglite which typically lasted months before the batteries died. (In fact I'd usually charge them before the batteries died.) This flashlight came with non-rechargeable batteries that died in 2-3 weeks. When I put my usual rechargeable batteries back in they had similar life. Disappointing! It has four modes. To switch between them you have to turn it ON & OFF etc. a specific number of times to get to the mode you want This also means that you have to refocus your flashlight every time you use it. ANNOYING! (This is an okay flashlight when used with an ON/OFF push button on the end of the battery compartment, but using other accessories like this may void the Lifetime Warranty.) Without a button or switch, this flashlight irritates me every time I use it.
