This portable DVD player is very nice and clear, but when traveling in a car you can not hear the movies very well at all. We had it turned up to the loudest volume that they had and with hardly any sound at all. We bought some little side speakers and it still wasn't the greatest. The best way to use this DVD player is to use earbuds. Other that that a great little player.

Just got this DVD player on sale with Best Buys Deal of the Day. Got it for half price! We have been looking for a new one to replace the one we had for 3 years (Magnavox) This one has more options and a bigger screen. My two young boys live it! Wish I had taken advantage of the sale and bought 2, well worth the price!

Purchased for an 84 year old man that had a massive stroke in order to enable him to watch speech therapy DVD's. He easily mastered the ability to operate this player. Above average, easy to use. Great picture. Speakers aren't great but with good head phones it sounds excellent.

I just bought this, and previously had a different brand unit. I agree that the volume of these portable players is generally not loud enough to be heard over car noise. There are a couple of solutions we have used and both work great. First, if you have a cassette player, you can buy a device that looks like a cassette tape, but has a wire coming out of it. Plug the wire into your earphone jack, and you can then hear the player and also adjust the volume through your car speaker system. Best Buy and other stores sell these. The other option is to get powered plug-in speakers. For the later option, we use one that takes 4 AA batteries, and it is plenty loud enough. Generally, the more batteries the portable speakers use, the louder the sound will be. Some other portable speakers use only 2 AA batteries, and some use no batteries at all. A third option, that is more dicey is to buy a plug-in portable FM transmitter that you can tune your car radio to - but most of these I have used experience interference and static.

This DVD player replaced a Sony player, and I love the user friendly menu and overall performance at a great price. My only concern was with the remote control, because it doesn't have a pause setting on the control. Otherwise, I love and would recommend this item to others!

I got this primarily to view while walking on my treadmill, which is positioned close to and facing a wall. I am pleased with the 4-hr battery life and the ease of use. It's great for personal viewing, and with ear-buds, would not disturb a mate. At sale price, it was very inexpensive for the value provided.

I bought this for travel and was very satisfied with it. It has a very nice picture and the sound quality was actually pretty good with the head phones. The only draw back is that I had to turn the sound all the up in some noisy environments and without the head phones, the sound wasn't great but still clear. For the price, it was definitely worth it.

for the price it doesthejob. I fly coast to coast and sometimes putting on a headset and watching a movie is what you need to get through the flight. I watched 2 full movies and still had battery life.

Have used this maybe 4 times in last 14 months on trips. Now the battery dies after 5 minutes. Definitely not from wear and tear.
