Whas up wit dat? Although I truly enjoyed this movie, I was extremely dissapointed with this DVD. It says that there is ''never before seen footage'' included on Disk 2. My question is ''Where?'' All I could find was the ''self tour.''

itz a great movie but the books are better. if u love harry potter u couldn't possibly pass up this movie, and while the movie makers skipped a few important parts from the book, itz an all-around nice movie. the characters are good, and viewers don't be dismayed if some of the scenes aren't like u thought they would be (that happened to me). I've read each the books 8 times and counting, but i'm not a fanatic.

I have seen worse adaptations of books to movies but this one is pretty bad. It should have been left a book and left at that. There was way too much hype about the movie so maybe people expected too much but this movie.. well it's just not that great! The acting is okay but the scenes go by way to fast. Lord of the Rings was by far much better!

Ever since the books have been published, I have always found time to read them. I love this series so much that I have read the first book about 15 times (no lies), and the rest, a total of 15 also. When I found the story was to be made into a movie, I was beside myself with joy. The first time I saw the movie, I have to say that I was a tad disappointed, because of all the scenes they had to cut out and rearrange, but after doing some research, I found that this was a necessity, or else the movie would have gone on for days. Even if the events were not in order, I have to say, ''Go Harry, go Harry! You rule!'' The movie was overall awesome, spectacular, fantastic, wicked cool, excellent, wonderful, etc.(you get my point). And anyone who does not appreciate the books and/or the movie...well...I am sorry you wasted your time. But to those who haven't seen it or read it yet, just let me tell you this is a definite ''MUST READ or SEE!''

I saw this movie 6 times already and have read the books more than 10 times each and I still can't get enough. I loved all the acting in this movie. Chris Rankin, Alan Rickman, Emma Watson, Rupert Grint, and Daniel Radcliffe all did great! I can't wait until I have it here so I can watch it all over and over and over agaiN!

But dont get me wrong the movie waas good but if i hadnt read the book before i would have probably got confused a little during the movie. i also think the movie could have been alot longer than it was even though it was aready pretty long. This movie was gorgeously made to portray the world of Harry Potter from JK Rowling's eyes to our own. Where can you find a movie that more realistically creates dragons, unicorns, centuars, three-headed dogs, and ghosts with heads that have not been cut off quite efficiently? My little sister just came back from Colombia about 3 weeks ago, has only been exposed to my obsession of Potter magic since she came back with our mum(I've made the inside of my house like the Gryffindor House), is only two years old, and is already a diehard Harry Potter fan. And Daniel Radcliffe is absolutely gorgeous, thank you very much. This movie is a must-see for anyone who just needs a little spice of magic in their life.

As a huge Harry Potter fan, I was very happy with the work done on the screenplay, direction, and acting in the movie. Robbie Coltrain was an inspired choice for Hagrid. He steals every scene he's in. All of the children are very believable, particularly Rupert Gringot as Ron. As someone else as already stated, just because the movie is good doesn't mean that it should replace the book(s).

This movie is by far better than any other movie! I've seen it 5 times in the movie theatre and cannot wait until May 28!!!The acting is superbe, especially by Dan Radcliffe, Rupert Grint, Emma Watson, Sean Biggerstaff and Tom Felton. The movie is totally loyal to the book about 99.9%. They just didn't put in the potion logic problem for Hermione, or Neville in the woods too, adn Neville was with Harry. Ron and Hermione when they first saw Fluffy. Overall, this movies does not deserve 5 stars, it deserves 10 stars!

All the tools were here for a great movie except for one, a talented director. Chris Columbus simply makes slow moving, boring movies. The casting, sets, and all other essentials were all put into place here. Unfortunately they were not put to good use by Columbus. The movie looks good, and the acting is adequate, it just doesn't move and thus, is about 30 minutes too long. A recommended movie but do not expect anything great here. How to fix? Get a decent director.

I enjoyed reading all the HP books so far and was exstreamly excited (so much so that I took my son out of class on opening day to go see it) when the film was announced. However, (and here it comes) technically there is a problem with the sound track. When I went to the theater I thought there was somethine wrong with their sound system. I couldn't here the actors, but the DVD made it clear the sound score drowns out the dialogue. The books are so well written and smartly phrased; I was really looking forward toward seeing tha actors deliver the words with impact and affect. And I praise the movie for being one of the most faith adaptation of an original book I've ever seen. However, the music quite often drowns out the dialogue. I'm not saying the score is bad. I feel it depth and feeling, however, it shouldn't drown out the roar of the crowd during Quidditch match.

I really enjoyed the movie but way too many things were left out from the book. The part about Hagrid and the dragon especially didn't make sense unless you had read the book. Also Malfoy was not nearly as bad as he should have been. Highly recommend reading the books either before or after.

Harry Potter is the best childrens' movie I've ever seen. One that really gets the parents to enjoy the movie and book at the same time. Who ever says the book and movie are a waste of time wouldn't know anything about movie making and what it takes to make a good movie.

this movie was wonderful! it came out the day after my birthday, so i brought some friends to see it. we sat in the front row! it was fantastic! i DO NOT agree with the person who wrote the ANNOYINGLY long review. the movie is perfect as it is. i think rupert grint and emma watson did a fabulous job! Good work, cast!

This movie is great. I admit I did not enjoy it as much as the book. Daniel Radcliffe did a wonderful job playing Harry and all the other actors made it come alive. I really recommend it for families. Enjoy!!

I was never really a Harry Potter fan but after seeing the film I now am! I fell in love with the little Harry, he is very cute! The acting of the whole cast could have been better but because they were mostly children, I have decided to forget about that! The fx were terrible in places, sometimes the film looked like a cartoon. But despite the film's many flaws, I found it entertaining nonetheless.

Great movie overall. I just wanted to say that Daniel's acting was an absolute natural and I think he was far better than his co-stars Emma and Rupert, because in some scenes they either over-acted or else their acting was obviously amateur at best. Emma was stiff, while in some scenes Rupert was just plain overdone. Though some will say Daniel was underacted, I think for an introductory book in which the character has just been introduced to a whole new magical world, and has spent the last 11 years of his life living with relatives who hate him and confine him, how else would Daniel act but to underplay his acting to capture Harry's reserved side of his personality? Daniel himself said that he realized he couldn't put Harry from Book 4 into the first movie, and I think he realizes the continued development of Harry. Even the producer and director realized Daniel's ability to underact a role, and in knowing so, may have factored into how Harry was to be played in the 1st movie. Besides which, he received rave reviews from the movie David Copperfield. I've seen it myself, and he was absolutely wonderful in that movie. Therefore, don't blame the actor. Perhaps it wasn't him, but the direction and content of the storyline with which he had to deal with. Overall, Daniel turned in a mature performance, and at the very least, Columbus and Heyman efforts in finding the spirit of Harry did not go in vain. I can see why it took as long as it did to find Harry, and that they were right in waiting to find him. I definitely see Harry in Daniel, and I think it would be difficult to find him in anyone else. There was I think a tad too much CGI, and in rare instances, perhaps not good enough. In certain scenes it was apparent that certain characters were animated, and I sometimes wonder why, if they could have real people be goblins, they couldn't do the same for some of the animated characters. It would have made them less 2-dimensional. On the other hand, the settings were beautiful and incredible. Hogwarts was more than I expected it to be, as was the Quidditch field, and Diagon Alley. The legendary actors in the movie were classic, of course. It was wonderful to see Alan Rickman and Maggie Smith again. Robbie Coltrane was perfect as Hagrid, and the other supporting roles from the younger actors, such as Sean Biggerstaff as Oliver Wood, Tom Felton as Draco Malfoy, and the twin actors were great in their own right. I think the filmmakers could have made the movie better. I understand they could not put all of the first book into the movie, as it would only create a very long film. But there was some scenes that should have stayed true to the book. However, instead, certain parts of those scenes were altered or cut, such as the ending after the chess set.Columbus had bragged that he had stayed true to the books, but in my opinion, not entirely. We can be grateful that each book will have a movie of its own, but if certain scenes from the book are going to be included in the movie, then Columbus should follow through as it was written in the book. Would I want you to buy this movie, though? Absolutely. It is a beautiful story with beautiful and interesting characters and it will most definitely will be a classic. I watch this movie time and again, and I would encourage all to purchase it.

I really loved ''Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone''.I remember seeing it on it's opening day with my family.At first,I thought it was going to be bad(in fact,when the movie I could barely look at the screen!).But pretty soon,I started enjoying it like everyone else.I especially liked Oliver Wood.He's soooooo cute!Daniel Radcliffe made an excellent Harry.I couldn't of thought of anyone better.I hope to get this movie on video and I can't wait for ''Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets''!
