Bought as a gift for my 91 year old mother. The remote is so helpful. The fan fit right in with her existing living room decor. She is very happy with it.

Our Midili fan arrived quickly after being ordered. I tested the fan after it was installed and I discovered the remote control was defective. That was a problem, because the fan/light do not work without the remote. It took some time on the phone to track down a replacement, but one did eventually arrive.

Only complaint is that a 9volt battery was not included for the remote. Nowhere on the box did it state a battery was needed & not included. So a trip to the hardware store was needed before we could test the fan's operation after installation. Also the 13w CFL bulbs are included but really need to be a larger wattage.

The fan looks good and has a great price...but is literally impossible to install. I am a DIYer, and installed 5 fans from HD over the past month (new house)...and this one is impossible to install with the yellow-remote reciever box. It could have maybe been the angle of my ceiling but had to take it back. Waste of time.

Very nice in appearance, love the overall look, love the shorter blades, remote included, value can't be beat for what you get, quality is good but with installation seems to be problems with not easy to install, hard to fit screws into certain areas, a curved screwdriver should be used with this product, luckily I had one....the balancing kit clip has a very narrow gap that could scratch the blade so I widened it, works much nicer with the gap wider.

Very pleased with the appearance of this ceiling fan. We've only used it for 6 weeks so I can't really say much about its quality, though all indications are it is well made. The remote control is very convenient. The fan was installed by an electrician doing other work in our house. He didn't seem to have any problem, but since I didn't do the install, my rating is really a fiction. We've ordered another for a different room.

I had the seller of my condo install these fans before I moved in a year ago. They look awesome. The light is a little dim but the fan gives off a good amount of air. Problem is that 1 of the remotes stopped working after about 6 months of having these fans. We tried everything to get it to work and nothing did. Today I finally ordered a new remote so hopefully this works. We have lofted ceilings so there is no way to reach the fan to manually turn it on.

Fan looked good. Fan seems to work well. No controls on the fan itself. Light was way too dim. Warning - Be careful if you try to remove the glass light cover. When I decided to replace the bulb I found the cover did not want to come off. I exerted more pressure and the cover shattered. Luckily I only received minor cuts.

The receiver for the remote the control burned out after 1 month. Unfortunately there aren’t any pull strings so my fan AND light were out of commission till i found a replacement box on ebay, which has a few glitches too. The fixture is beautiful and the fan is awesome. They really need to do something about the receiver box though.

The way Hampton designed the remote control circuit make their product a pain to install. I have installed many fans over the years and this unit was designed with production more in mind than installation. Everything else was fine but I won't be purchasing any more fans from this manufacturer.

I ordered 3 of these units and 2 others. These must be the cheapest hampton bay I have ever seen. They look ok, but nothing seems to fit together properly. If we weren't so frustrated with them, we would have taken them down and taken them back.

We bought the light for a bedroom so the light isn't as important as the fan to us, however, if you want to clean a closet you'll need to provide other light source. I like the bronze color and it fits our decor.

The install went fairly well. Placing the remote reciever in the top was a chore on both fans as the space is really tight. So much so that the fan was restricted in movement. If you want the fan to hang down more from the cieling you will not be able to find a matching down tube so you have to find one that is a different color. Not the end of the world but not an item that could be found at Home Depot nor could one be ordered. When in operation it really moves the air and is extremly quiet.

5 stars on fan. Very happy with its look, quiet operation, and performance.1 or 2 stars on installation. I've never installed a fan and for sure that didn't help. And I know fan boxes differ and mine required extending the supply wires from the ceiling to give me more slack, which took up more space in the fan box with the nuts and may not be your situation. So take this with a grain of salt. But reading these reviews before installing the fan, I thought I was prepared for the commonly discussed problem of how to fit the remote receiver and its wiring. Advance warning didn't help me very much. I think it may have been impossible to fit all the wires in the fan box I had, the way the instructions tell you to do it. The design has the receiver blocking the hole where the wires come out from the motor. They don't tell how to orient the receiver or wires. That left my wires pinched by the receiver and rubbing/fraying against the mounting bracket. More realistic help here would have been great because the receiver was hard to get into place, given the limited slack on some wires, which made it hard to rotate into place while stuffing the wires. If you're having trouble with this part, my advice would be a) Google for reviews and Q&As. People online have run into the same problem with the Midili and asked about fitting and wiring the receiver. There are photos showing it, or receivers on similar fans, in the finished position.b) If the wiring is hard to fit, try flipping the receiver 180 degrees. It wasn't obvious to me from the 'pin' in the mounting bracket which direction the receiver should face, and once I flipped it -- to the position that was less obvious to me -- and reconnected all the wires at this new position to avoid tangles, the rest of the steps went much easier, including screwing in the canopy at the ceiling. And c) talk to an electrician about which wires really need to go in the fan box and which ones can safely stay in the fan's canopy, despite the instructions to put them all in the box. I'm not an electrician so don't listen to me.Once up, fantastic, solid fan and worth the headache. But the process was infuriating, at least with my fan box. Someone posted elsewhere they had 3 'meltdowns' trying to solve this problem before concluding it was impossible to fit the wires where instructed. I had 2. :)

This fan has a remote and is very quiet. The only thing that would make it perfect is a reverse switch on the remote in stead of the on the fan.

I am so disappointed in every way and would return the fan but don't want to go through the expense of having my previous fixture re-installed. The electrician had a very difficult time with the size of housing for the wires and box and said the people who designed the fan obviously never put one together. The only way to reverse airflow is to go back up into the ceiling box and is not on the remote as stated features of the fan. There is very little if any airflow, circulation even on the high speed. I am so disappointed and especially to see that I paid $106.00 and the fan is now reduced. Don't bother with this one and maybe that's why the price has been lowered. This fan gives Hampton Bay a bad name!

Best thing we did for our new home. We had 2 installed in 2 bedrms by a licensed electrician. They are very quiet and provide the needed airflow for each room. The remotes work great and we are very happy with the operation and design of the fans. Also, just the perfect lighting when needed.

The installation of the remote reciever is all but impossible. I had to install a small box, which I stained the color of the fan. I placed the box on the ceiling against the cover toward the far side of the room. Make the cover a little larger and the problem would be solved.

Fan does not move much air and the light bulb is not centered in the globe so it looks odd with the light on.

this just took 2 people 4 hours to install. the fan fights you every step of the way. In addition to the remote being mandatory, no chains, the instructions are horrible and you have to intertwine both sets of instructions (fan and remote) to actually put it up. None of the screw holes line up therefore it would be nice if the screws supplies had a point instead of a flat end. My bulb was broken in the package too. Now that its up it looks a bit uneven, but I dont care any more, this was ridiculous.

They did not include a 9 volt battery with the remote, however my installer had a device to turn it on and test it. We set it at light on and high fan, connected to the off/on toggle on the wall for function until we got a battery. The fan looks very stylish in my small 10x10' office, and the blades (two-sided) match my oak lawyers' bookshelves. The light is good, and I love the remote, handy for a hot flash. Here in the desert, we keep the thermostat at 78* in the summer, and this lovely fan keeps us cool even when it's triple digits outside. The price turned my head on sale; I snapped it up, and the fan works as well as my much pricier 52" fans.
