Golfsmith Hosel Cleaning Brush Set Wood/Iron

Product Details
Golfsmith Hosel Cleaning Brush Set Wood/Iron
One of the most important small tools in any clubmaker's shop! This coarse-wrapped wire brush helps clean the bore of old epoxy, oil or other pollutants that can weaken the epoxy bond to the shaft. The ergonomic, hard rubber handle provides a better, no-slip grip, while the two included brushes accommodate wood and iron hosel bores. Brushes can also be used with a drill.
Tip: Use with a fast evaporating solvent to ensure a totally clean bond.
Replacement wood brushes (#8625a) and iron brushes (#8625b) are available separately.

I am just getting started in this hobby and really just wanted the brush tips to stick in my electric drill, which they do easily and work great!

This product works exactly as described, but for only one club. The brush becomes so deformed after using it once that it doesn't work so well on the next club. I found the .335 head works better than the iron head. Plus, it really doesn't remove any residue.

simple tool. works as advertised to clean junk from hosel before putting in new shaft.

I just finished removing a bunch of shafts form irons that I wanted to re-use - this helped with the cleanup process quite nicely.

Very comfortable handle. The brush does a good job of cleaning the hosel. It could be a little stiffer.
-
3.0 / 5.0
The brush can break off the handle if it is bent. Hosel weight ports can mush the bristles together where they won't work any more since they are smaller in diameter. Don't turn the brush all of the way down a clubhead bore into the weight port if it is empty. Otherwise the tool removes dried epoxy and other debris remarkably well.

This brush is very quick at removing old epoxy and leaning up the hosel bore. Very affordable.
