This was purchased as a second refrigerator for use in the basement. The glass shelves and ability to store tall items in the door are all great. Other comparable models from other manufacturers had wire shelves or low restraining bars in the door which would have allowed tall items to topple over when opening the door. The exterior finish and handle were also of a much better quality.

This is a piece of junk. It is incredibly noisy. It grunts and moans all the time. I can hear it two rooms away. Can;t wait to get rid of it. While it does its refrigeration job okay, I just want this out of my house. My worst purchase ever.

I wasn't sure about this model as it was taller, narrower and deeper than my old GE, but because of this, I don't have to lean over as far to get something out. The little freezer shelf is perfect for dividing my frozen foods, plus that little upper shelf on the left-hand side is perfect for 2 ice cube trays. The narrower dimension also leaves me lots more room outside of the fridge on the side for storage in the kitchen. Could always use that. It's also runs very quietly. The drawers, however, have two problems. They don't pull out smoothly and they aren't as deep as my old model, but there's so much room in the rest of the fridge that it doesn't matter.

We bought this fridge to replace a 25+ year old energy-hog that we use as an "extra" refrigerator in our basement. Mostly used to store extra soda, freezer items, etc. Really like this unit. The refrigerator shelves are very study--looked at other units in similar price range with flimsy wire shelves. The freezer is large and I like the wire shelf that runs across the upper portion of the freezer. Door storage in both the fridge and freezer sections are large.

It's a good simple fridge. Not much to go wrong. At $495.00 w/ free delivery it was a good deal. Not worth the $599.00 it's selling for now.

This is a good basic refrigerator.I have a fairly small space and it fits nicely. However, it is much louder than I expected it to be,

First one purchased made noises when compressor came on. New one seems to be ok. Except for the first glitch I like it.

This refrigerator almost sounds like it's haunted. It howls and clanks, in addition to the loud sound of the compressor turning on. It sometimes sounds like the refrigerator is about to explode! The strange noises come and go and are not related to the compressor turning on. I have no idea what is causing these loud and strange sounds. This is a value model but it still should not be making these strange sounds. My cat will no longer go near the kitchen! I will look into asking Best Buy to replace this refrigerator.

Exterior is easy to keep clean; glass shelves are easier to clean than wire.

Had for over two weeks, not a single complaint, other than the lack of separate temperature controls. The delivery folks even swapped the doors from right-opening to left-opening!

I recently purchased this unit for a rental house that I own. The first one came and looked fine, until they changed the direction of the door swing. When they flipped the door, the unit began to make loud gurgling noises every time the door was opened, even though there was no ice maker or water of any kind. They didn't know how to fix it, so they decided to bring a new one. The same thing happened with the second unit, only this one also had a dent in the side. Nobody could figure it out, so I just returned the unit and bought another one elsewhere. I always thought GE was a good unit but these - not so much!

I bought this fridge for an apartment I was moving into. I wanted a basic fridge that was Energy Star rated. That is what this is. I got it at a good price, delivery was free, and the guys who brought it to the apartment were excellent, they even switched the door for me. Runs quiet and fit perfectly in the location I needed it for. If you want a fancy fridge with in the door ice and water this is not the fridge for you. If you just want a basic fridge to keep your food cold and your frozens frozen, check this GE out.

Overall it works well and has enough space for our two-person household. We like that it is energy efficient, but wish it wouldn't make the occasional strange sounds.

My family needed a simple, no frills refridgerator to replace our old workhorse. This model was sold by all appliance stores in the area. Figured if EVERYONE was selling it, it must be good. My family WASN'T disappointed!

I purchased this refrigerator because I am on a budget. It's frost-free and very roomy inside. The glass shelves are adjustable, and the climate controlled vegetable/fruit bins are great. The doors have extra depth for gallon-size milk container. The freezer compartment is designed well to hold a turkey without having to move shelves, and has plenty of storage room. I ordered this online, and the process could not have been easier. The delivery folks were great and transferred the door handles for me. It's also quiet and keeps my food at an even temperature - a great purchase!

This fridge fit our needs perfectly, waiting for ice maker to get delivered from another online company (that I found for $25 cheaper,) hopefully that works out well. The fridge is just fine, but the main reason I'm writing the review is to mention the excellent customer service that was provided by the delivery crew. The two guys were extremely professional, did a fantastic job setting up the fridge, didn't damage anything, and were more than happy to take the old fridge out of the kitchen, around the house, and down into the basement. A+++++!!!!!

i did not buy this frige at best but, but that really dont matter. its a new GE, GTH18GBDCRWW top freezer. i specifically went out to buy a new frige cause my old one (fridgadare) makes a popping noise after start-up. i told sales person all i care about is getting one that dont make noise, other than the usual humming of the motor. the GE is much worse, it pops 5 times longer, makes a clacking sound every ten seconds, and a sound like a bad bearring that comes and goes. the relay that turns on compressor also pops when it starts up and stops. i would like to know if there is a frige out there to buy that dont do this. come on GE really? now im gonna have to go to an appliance store and look like some kind of nut when i ask them to plug a frige in so i can listen to it. and wait hours for it to reach temperature, cause this ge was ok till it got cold, except for the one pop of the compressor relay start-up and stop.

We replaced our garage fridge that primarily holds soda and beer with this one. We have two kids and should probably buy our own cow with how much milk they drink but this extra fridge can hold plenty of gallon sized milk containers in the door which is a plus. Unique freezer rack that holds frozen pizza is an interesting option for those of us that keep a few on hand. I've heard some people have issues with the noise from the compressor but I've not heard anything excessive. The drawers are about as cheaply made as possible so don't plan on loading them up with a bunch of heavy items.

We needed one for awhile, our old one was small and it leaked. This one is roomy, has plenty of shelf space and keeps the same temperature all the time. I especially like the fact that I can store milk on the door and can see what is in the crisper through the clear top bins.

I read the reviews on every 18 cu ft refriderator I could find. Almost eveyr make I looked at had way too many reviews saying they were noisy. This seemed to have the best reviews regarding the noise factor and I have to say I'm glad I did my research, it's a great refridgerator and very quiet. I can only can hear it if I really listen for it, so I don't think it's going to annoy anyone. Other than that, it's a great price for what you get, glass shelves, a very spacious freezer and plenty of door space for large soda and milk bottles. It's only been 2 weeks so can't comment on durablitiy but it seems pretty well built.

I downsized to this fridge, and I've been very happy with it. My old fridge was dirty (came with my house when I bought it), so just having a new, clean fridge has me very excited, but there's nothing about the fridge that I'm unhappy with so far and I've had it for two months. Between downsizing and the fact that the fridge is energy star rated, I've also noticed a positive impact on my electric bills, and that's great, especially at a time when everything seems to be getting more expensive.

This refrigerator replaced a much older model in our kitchen, and we are delighted with the upgrade in features. The separate vegetable and fruit drawers keep both fresher, and the door space allows us to keep our condiments and milk separate from the rest of our groceries. Overall, we have no complaints.

Met all my needs for a spare refirgerator in the garage. Thought the price could have been $50 to $100 lower for all the basics. Needless to say, it met all my expectations and I'd purchase it again.
