It was easy to install. The sound is very loud for its size. Was very surprised by it. Base volume can be adjusted at any time.

First Impression; Its LOUD ALLRIght! Then I remebered the break-in period, which could be 2-3 months. No problem. Used in a 4.2 Mid-power stereo, primarily for music. 2-weeks in....better, 2-months in...MUCH, approx. 5-months in ...Wonderful.!!!! not saying that you need to wait, but in THIS case patience DOES payoff! sounded 'good' right out of the box...but it gets very very good!!! No need to 'crank-it' either. My best results seem to be around 60% gain, set at 45hz. This thing will not only shake the house, but give you some very good detail while doing it!!! spec's seem underrated; I feel some mid 20's hz vibrations 60-feet away!!! EXCELLENT VALUE imho.

I like to watch action and Syfii movies, this sub really gives you all the jaw dropping roars, bangs, and rumbles. This thing really shakes the house! It drives my dogs crazy with all the low rumbles and floor shaking.

This is an excellent subwoofer. We have it in a room about 20' by 15 and it is outstanding. We play music constantly and the sound through a Denon receiver is excellent, and its output on Bluray is also outstanding. It can shake the floor and walls with explosions from a movie and it can magnify a good bass riff from any album and add an excellent sense of being there. In short, we love it for music, the kids love it for their Xbox.

The energy esw c10 subwoofer completed my surround sound stereo system. I could not believe what sounds I was missing. My older less expensive subwoofer had about 90% of the sound the energy esw c10. Best Buy was stubborn about the price, but they gave me 10% off the list price. The 10% of made the price less than Since I purchased all the other energy speakers at about 35% savings on the other 7 speakers, I was satisfied with the 10%.savings on the energy esw c10. I waited patiently for all the speakers to go on sales. I'm glad I did. All I can say is I can't believe what I was missing in sounds from my receiver. My wife, who was concerned about the price of all the speakers, could not believe the sounds we were missing either. Everyone that comes over our house for movie night cannot believe the sound from the speakers either. My wife and I our completely satisfied with our purchases.

While it usually lists for $399.99 - $429.99, I waited until the priced dropped before I bought it. I couldn't be happier that I did. Was well worth the wait. Matched it with Energy Take Classic 5.0 Speakers. After the break in period, music sounds great and movies come to life. Subwoofer & Classics performed flawlessly together. You really FEEL the bass as well as hear it. Highly recommended.

Although I have no doubt this sub could provide a solid anchor to a home entertainment system, I use the Energy ESW-C10 exclusively for listening to music. The Energy provides an excellent boost to the low end of some vintage Energy ESM-2 speakers that I use with my Denon receiver. Crisp and clean, this sub will boom when low notes are thrown at it. The entire system looks great and, more importantly, sounds awesome too! I highly recommend the Energy ESW-C10 subwoofer!

I'm a HUGE Energy speaker fan! They make great quality speakers at a really great price point. By far the best value in home audio at the entry/ mid level point. This sub is amazing! Great definition, with tight, accurate bass. Incredible low end extension and adequate power for most environments. I wish the sub came with a wireless remote to adjust level on the fly. Music sounds great, but movies could be overwhelming at the same level...I need to adjust the levels between the two on my receiver. Overall, a really great sub. I highly recommend all ENERGY Speakers. I also have a set of Energy CB-20 for surrounds and bought a second set for my study.

i went into my local bestbuy today looking to buy a subwoofer for my bedroom setup and was surprised with what i was shown and told the staff member had told me about this subwoofer saying he owns one and telling how great it sounds so we go try one out and surprised with how it sounded he tells me the price $429.99 i had walked in with only 300 to spend but he then tells me that there is an open box one for $299,99 and he brings it over and the only thing different between that and an unopened one is the the tape on the box was cut i then take it home and it sounds just the same as the one in store so take the small risk with open box items you could save A LOT

The Energy 400W 10" sub is a great unit for larger rooms. The room I have it in is about 325 sq ft with a cathedral ceiling and no wall on the opposite side. It kicks with a strong, clean umph and reaches all corners of the room evenly. Nice feature about it is that it can shut off after no signal is received for a few minutes and cross over frequency is adjustable. My receiver (Onkyo 606) has an auto calibration feature, which probably helped a lot. Installation was very easy when purchasing a dedicated subwoofer cable.

I listened to many subwoofers, and asked many questions of the Magnolia Theater staff before choosing this for my home theater, and once I set it up and calibrated my receiver, I am not impressed. The most important question I asked was how would this sub perform in a larger room (12' x 22') that is carpeted, and was assured by 2 different staff members that it would be more than enough when combined with my older Pioneer VSX-815. I tried each of the recommended wiring setups, and they all failed to match the performance of my towers without the sub. I am returning this in the morning, and suggesting that the Magnolia Theater staff, although well trained in product models and specs, need to be better trained in product performance and room acoustics and what effects that has on performance.
