I saw the review of someone, commenting on how a previous rater stated that they had problem with the solar charging feature of a G-Shock watch, during winter. The rating stated that they had to place it in the window for charging, during the winter and lost use of the watch, during charging. I've had a solar G-Shock watch for five years, and have never had that problem. At times.....I've used other watches, while my G-shock just sat on a shelf in the house, using only florescent lights, ordinary light bulbs, and that has been enough for it to charge and keep on going, until I wore it. I have never seen my G-Shock solar watch ever go less than the full charge reading. I don't know what conditions that, that rater's watch was used, (stored in a drawer?), but my watch has never been under a full charge in five years. The watch doesn't need sunlight to charge. It can charge using an ordinary light bulb light, or florescent lighting. It even charges with cloudy skys, and a snow storm. Anyway.....I thought you should know.

I bought this watch a couple years ago. I do love the atomic clock feature. It is always accurate, but I do not like the solar battery. During the summer it is great, but once winter comes I find my battery running out for a number of days. I often end up taking it off at work to put in the window to charge and do not have a time piece for the day.
