I read the reviews for this blanket and was very hesitant about buying it. I washed it and ran it through the dryer several times to remove the lint. Now that I have it on the bed, I just love it. It is the perfect weight and so comfortable. I highly recommend it.

I purchased the Berkshire Blanket, Egyptian Cotton Blanket in brown for my daughter and after washing this blanket 5 times now just to get rid of the lint, it is hopeless and a waste of time. It will be going back to the store. The lint is everywhere, sheets, comforter, pajamas, her hair, everywhere!

First the good news - BB&B are the absolute best about returning products that you are not happy about. When I purchased this blanket, my husband and i loved it! We live in Florida and this was perfect for sleeping in the A/C and for our mild winter weather. The bad news - I washed it! The blanket virtually died - the fibers that came off went all over the place including our sheets and pj's and my lint filter. Such a disappointment - I had no receipt, no original pac king and when I took it back to BB & B, they didn't even hesitate about giving me credit and I found another blanket I like much better! Kudos to Bed Bath & Beyond for their excellent customer service.

Well, the hand me down blanket finally had too many holes & wear & tear that it disintegrated. This one was priced about right and after taking the day off & putting it thru the pre-Thanksgiving Day nap test. This blanket was perfect. I bought it for the Futon in the twin size. So it's basically for naps in front of the tv set as a solo sleeper. I live in Miami, FL and needed a lighter blanket for mild winters of South Florida. The weather obliged and brought in a cold front that's supposed to get to mid 50's at night. The material breathes and keeps me warm enough for 50+ degree nights and the lowest it gets around here in the winter is mid to upper 30's ? If not, I'm sure I can pick up a warmer micro-fiber synthetic blanket at that time ? I think this should be warm enough for those rarer nights. It's soft enough too.

First I have to tell the person that puts bedding on their bed without washing it to never, ever do that. There are so many chemicals on bedding that it's a must to wash everything before ever putting it on your bed. Why would you put unwashed bedding on your bed? That is totally gross!! I have to wonder where your head is at. The chemicals used could cause people with asthma to go into an attack, it can cause hives, rashes and many other issues. Always, ALWAYS wash your bedding before putting it on your bed. Now, with that being said, this is a nice blanket. Yes, it does give off fibers, but it's Egyptian cotton and it does shed, but will stop after a couple of washes. It should be washed a couple of times before using it, anyway. It really fits my bed nicely and looks nice too. It's warm and passes the cat test. My cats love sleeping on it. They don't like all of my blankets, but do the "pushy thing" with their paws on this blanket. That's how I can tell they like it. I think it costs too much money, which is why I only gave it 4 stars, but with the 20% off coupon, it's a decent cost.

This is my first review ever - but I wouldn't want anyone else to unknowenly have to deal with this problem. I purchased the Berkshire Egyptian Cotton Blanket in the Espresso (brown) color. I placed in on my bed to make sure it fit properly and I noticed a lot of cotton fabric fibers, so I decided I should probably put it in the dryer to get them off. The lint filter got full right away, so I decided I should wash it. What a mistake. I should have returned it when I saw how much lint it produced. The washing machine had a lot of lint in it. At that point I had to dry it (even though I was considering returning it). I had to empty the lint screen every few minutes and filled a medium ziplock bag with lint. I had to vacuum out the lint behind the lint screen. From emptying it iso much, I had small lint fibers all over the laundry room. It was a pain and mess. Worse experience ever with washing and drying anything. I'm sure breathing in all that isn't good and it surely wasn't good for my dryer.

I purchased mine over six weeks ago. They were out of the size I needed, in the color I wanted so I bought a "king" and cut it down. First I prewashed it I got a lot of lint, a great big handful in fact! but after using this blanket on the bed I've found it looks very nice, it smooths out beautifully and I've had no problems with snags even with a cat with claws that loves to climb on the bed.

Bought this blanket in king size. First, I washed and dried it. It's so heavy when wet, that I had to rebalance the load 3 times to get it through a cycle, and there was a large amount of lint in the dryer. However, my main problem was when I put it on the bed! It totally did not cover the mattress, let alone hang down on the sides. I checked the package to make sure I didn't get the wrong size, but all tags said King. I measured it and it was a good 10 inches smaller than the King size listed here. Either someone at the factory goofed, or it really shrunk up. Either way I am returning it promptly.
