I needed a 2 wheeler bike for my son who is 4 be 5 in december and it was his first 2 wheeler. We looked at a few others but the Avigo bike was a great color and looked and felt sturdy. The training wheels looked sturdy. He took it for a test run in the store and the brakes worked great and it moved nice. Very nice bike and for the price it is unbeatable. Great service from the staff at toys r us too. I feel really good about this purchase.

Probably like most people who bought this bike we were looking for something inexpensive that would last a couple of years (at best) before my son outgrew it. He has had it for about 9 months now. This bike was great for him to learn to ride without training wheels. He enjoys it quite a bit. The brakes leave a bit to be desired, neither the hand brakes or the coaster seems to do as good as the coaster on his 16" Lightning McQueen bike. Additionally, we started hearing a "thunk" sound while pedaling. I took a look at it and it seemed to be coming from the rear hub. I loosened up the nuts on the wheel and turned the crank and noticed that the hub wobbles back and forth as it turns. My guess is that there is a bearing that is going bad or maybe missing altogether? The bike probably isn't worth fixing, but he isn't ready for a bigger one yet. It's still rideable, but I wonder how long it will last. If you get this bike, get the extended warranty and then go through the hassle to register the serial number or whatever the hoop is that you have to jump through. It is ridiculous that they make you do that, and a way to get you to pay for something that you then can't use.

I got this bike for Christmas for our seven year old son. We waited until summer to use it, of course. We had TRU assemble it for ten dollars. My son got on the bike, rode it down the street and pop, pop, both pedals popped right off and of course he fell off of the bike. My husband tightened them and then looked over the bike and realized that the front wheel was about to pop off as well (bolts VERY loose) and that the front brakes did not work at all. Basically, the bike had been assembled by a lazy incompetent person who did not care if the person riding it would get hurt. We called TRU to complain, waited on hold for 20 minutes to speak to a manager, and were hung up on. Called back immediately (by this time hubby is furious at the service, not the quality of the bike) and gets a hold of a manager. We are taking it back in later when their bike assembly guy comes in to have it fixed. I now have one angry husband and one disappointed son. Thanks Toys R Us! Also, no kickstand on the bike, which is just confusing. Why would it not have a kickstand?

The bike meet our expectations... The most important was if it meet our grandson's! He was so happy, he had an easy time handling it... He & his brother rode their bikes for hours yesterday! This speaks volumes, the training wheels helped him a lot too!
