Product Details

Any home is a big investment. Adding a GE whole house water filter system helps reduce sediment, sand and rust at the main water supply so there is less build up inside water heaters, pipes, dishwashers and other appliances and fixtures. A home filtration system can also help provide clean, clear water for showers, dishwashing, and laundry.

Does what it is supposed to do. Installed by a plumber who noted the oversized threads that required 10 loops of pipe tape to seal the filter's case threads properly. He stated he had encountered the situation numerous times. Filter removes smell and taste from water supply.

good for keeping showrs and sinks sediment free (redish stuff thats hard to clean that build up in shower). short life span and you to replace every 2 to 3 months. can not use for drinking water. u still need to get another type of filter for drinking water.

Same as Culligan pleated filter and lasts about 6 months in my set-up. Does a good job from replacement to next replacement. A litle bit better price than Culligan brand.

Great product for whole house filtration system. I've tried others but this GE product lasts longer. Online purchase through Ebates helped this purchase.

I have used this filter for a couple of years, but the recent batch of these filters is either bad or GE has lowered the quality. Before the filter would fill up and you could tell it was full. Now the filter lasts about a month AND it becomes clear. Its as if the filter now completely flushes out after about a month. It no longer filters and has a sulfur smell. I am looking for an alternate.

I have a well with a lot of sediment and have used whole house filters for years. I used to get 6-8 weeks on a set of filters before having to change them. Within the last year these GE filters have started failing within 3-4 weeks. Instead of clogging and reducing water pressure at their end of service, there is no change in pressure and they allow sediment into the house plumbing. This is a marked change in performance, for the worse.

We have a lot of sediment and this filter cartridge works very well on sediment. We have to change it more often due to the amount of sediment in our well water. We do not have issues with taste or smell so I couldn't comment on that aspect of it. I would recommend it for well water.

This filter will NOT remove the sulfur rotten egg smell in your water! I recommend FXHTC if you need a filter to remove odors!

Works like a charm. This filter is helping to keep my plumbing clean from sediment that may get pumped in from my well. I can't really compare it to any other whole house filter out there, but I'll give it the benefit of the doubt and rate this filter 5 stars.

I have used this filter in my house in Montana and in California. I have also used the $35.00 filter. This filter is by far the most economical and practical for filtering the water in a whole house system. If I replace mine about every three months I do not have any problems with my water system. If I wait or forget the filter will slowly start to reduce the flow through out the house (cause it is doin its job). Very much worth its price!!

I installed this product in my house about a year ago. The installation was pretty basic but the results were outstanding. As soon as this filter was in operation, a noticable difference in the taste of the water in my house was apparent. It also stopped the white residue building up in my water facet filters. The results were so good that I decided not to replace the water filter in my refridgerator as it was no longer needed.

What can I say? It fits the device it was intended to fit. It filters water. I would prefer to not have to order it on-line and buy it at the local store but whatever!

Live in Arizona that has very sandy well water, This model with the pleats filters out the sand better than the extra fine model sold for clorine removal. Ours lasts about a month, you can see the build up through the clear cup. The water tastes a lot better too.

This product works well. We do have to change it every three weeks or so, which does get costly, but that would be the case with any filter on our water system.

I installed a whole house filter last year and these filters do a great job of keeping the sediment out of the lines. With having a drilled well that goes down over a hundred feet, the sediment was a problem. The G.E. whole house system was an easy install if you know how to work with PVC. Should be about an hour to hour and half project.

I only wish I had seen the model above this one that filtered more things out of the water. But ... maybe it would have slowed down the pressure. This model made a big difference in our home.

For the filter does a fairly well job doing what it was designed for. Does not last as long as package says it does.
